I think the biggest frustration is coming from it being a brawl (i.e. no real rating). I don’t mind the speed and the powerups if people are able to comprehend the BG and the tacs. Currently it is always 2-3 glads vs afkers/midfighters/pve passtimers. Leaving is also not punished.
When I lose it is always because people positioning badly, pressing 2-3 aoe spells then getting instagibbed by melee burst without pressing any def cds + not doing any objectives (healers solo defending a node on cooldown). I don’t have a bad time because of the game mode but because of the people who are not playing.
Brawl is the LFR of PvP. 80% is there to get a free carry, 20% is doing the lift.
Also if you think about it the games MUST be fast to have a decent queue time for everyone. Currently everyone is in the same rating more or less and it takes 15 mins to pop. Imagine if you are at 2K and a BG is 45 mins long…
the mode needs to change all u meet is casters or specs who can cap. It needs to go back to normal ab/gorge/eots and the mountspeed needs to be deleted. Even at 2k+ mmr you’ll have teammates who dont understand when a node in EOTS isn’t capable, or they just run all clueless in mid in gorge. or sometimes a single orb isn’t taken in mogu.
it is tbh. holding orb is miserable. for many specs you cant use your defensive. rogue cant use stealth. you can’t use gateway either iirc. it is absolutely the worst bg in the game right now mechanically - and you need to BEG people to pick up orbs. No one needs to be begged to fight at LM or BS or farm or stable or GM. We go there ourselves because we want to fight.
there are many times where you are the best dps on the team, but also the worst option for holding orb. you have to make a choice between removing yourself from the game by holding orb, or praying other people do the mechanic, which they won’t, because it is miserable to hold orbs.
the bg is badly designed. the mechanic is anti-fun.
Don’t you get bonus points by killing whilst holding an orb? it always gave me the impression that you do get rewarded for taking a risky step, especially if you’re situated at mid with your team mates.
you get bonus points for killing orb carriers i know that, not sure about killing while holding the orb.
the problem is always the reliability of your healers. kotmogu is such a terrible bg for healers that stare at their raid frames, because everyone is in range, but half of them are out of LoS. kotmogu is the only bg where i regularly out heal my healers on my druid/lock/war/ret. i’ve even seen hunters and rogues outheal healers on kotmogu.
