Blizz Authenticator App being replaced by Battlenet.net App

Don’t like how the authenticator part of the new app is just a pop-up.

Let it be it’s own tab in the app that i can look up in case the popup doesn’t work for some dumb reason.

PS you don’t need to be logged in. I never log in it just alerts me and I authorise so there are no additional steps required. Only reason I dont want it on my phone is because you cant use it unless you enable cookies, which I never allow on my phone.

Ah, good, I’ll delete the old app and just use the new one. Would still be nice to be able to use MS Authenticator instead though.

Edit: first time you want to authenticate, you need to log into the app to say you want it to authenticate Blizz for you.

After that’s done, you can sign out again and authenticate without needing to be signed in. However, if you’re not signed into the app it doesn’t pop up a request to authenticate like the old app did - you need to open the app first, then it asks for authentication.

That’s fine I guess, though I would still like to add it to MS Authenticator instead. If every MFA service demanded a separate authenticator app, my phone would be full of them!

i assume difference is you dont sign in to authenticator you just click it and you are done.

for me this change is dumb too

Some are saying they don’t stay logged in on this app either. Mine has always been on and I get messages on it so it’s not something I’ve tried myself so might be worth investigating.
