I think 440 tomorrow isn’t unreasonable, there’s just 1-2 pesky slots still sub 400 that are dragging me down, I’ll avoid mythic plus if I can help it though.
After tomorrow though, I’m gonna be playing the char with connections so raid m+ etc with guild. Only doing this to see what it’s like trying to get ‘on to’ the gearing ladder for the first few days.
Nah it does not matter if we started same time, as the point is to see how easy it is to start off as solo player. I’ll probably skip PvP and LFR and see where I get that way.
My starting point is il267, fresh ding having also legion items still equipped
So I’ll probably make new coffee and see where this leads. But i think I better wait daily reset - and not abuse those 3 hours ahead. And then I can measure weight of 48h like that.
well, you also skipped part of the gearing process by buying gear so it becomes difficult to compare, but here’s my Day 1 breakdown:
Start, 20:40 Day1: ilvl 251
Essences unlocked, 21:18 Day 1: ilvl 284
Quick Round of WQ for Azerite, 22:03 Day 1: ilvl 335, Neck 58
Cloak obtained 1x upgraded, 23:50 Day 1: ilvl 405, Neck 66

Next up are the TW weekly quest and trying to “fix” the last few low ilvl slots before going into the M+0’s
I bought a ring, because rings are pretty nonexistent, and some of those crafted 400 slot things to make the post 120 quests not absolute hell, replaced basically all of that.
Doing the first… 5? Quests in nazjatar gets you 5 benthic items of your choice, and a 370~ weapon. Worth as a very very first step just to get some working azerite and usable items under your belt. It’ll also springboard your neck to level 50 with the resulting essence quest.
I’m not saying that was wrong of you but that does give you a head start in terms of questing speed, emmisary rewards etc.
On the other hand it might be interesting to see to what degree sublementing your gear through the AH speeds up the process, if at all.
you kinda need to in order to unlock the essences. you get 20 manapearls you can freely spend. I’d advise for 3 azerite pieces
a few more quests but it hardly takes longer than 10 minutes to get there. Then the essence unlock Fieldtrip to Highmountain and when you get back, then you get those 20 pearls
Thats what i am thinking. Just I know when my other Horde dk did that originally she had a bit of pain, and it resulted me to send her BoA’s. But this time I’ll see how my lonesome orc manages.
True. a questarea ability that, at the time of realease, geared players didn’t need and vanishes after the first 3 or 4 quests is nothing but pure bias
Yeah did it with my holy pally a while back. Guess she had higher ilvl tho, probably around 350 cause she had some benthics. I had to pull one and one mob
I have some old flasks in my bag, using those. But I have to eat vendor food between each pull, and I am now pondering how on earth I am going to kill that caster NPC for quest that rewards weapon.
My HP is 59k, hers is 356k
hum maybe blood spec and extra action button and hope for best …
