Maybe your realm was different but draenor chat was filled with cm and mythic hfc spam.
wich is why this is in fact worse. even dead realms are being spammed by boost selling bots. just like chinese gold sellers used to. wich was not the case with cm sellers

tons of people sell boosts cause tons of people buy them. There are like 10 posters on these forums whining about boosting and they account for 0.000001% of the community.
Yeah, but then how the M+ people would feel themselves better than the rest?

I did. From 7 am today till 3pm i reported all WTS ads in both M+ and raid que’s. At 500 reports i stopped counting. They pop up just as fast as i could report them. This is all i did during the whole time. I made a thread about it today saying how ridiculous the WTS ads situation in M+ and raid ques are.
I am now reading up on lua in hopes of getting good enough to get a plug going that will filter the ads out. If that is even possible.

I’m reporting those in /2 as well. They post every 10 seconds the same message it’s ridiculous!

Those that post ads in chat channels can be dealth with by means of addons.
Those that abuse the M+ and raid que’s to post ads with no intention of even starting the instance need to be dealt with.
Sadly, blizzard has financial interests in keeping these boosters alive as they bring in money. And in the business world money talks.

I dont want them to ban them.
I want blizzard to give them the means to advertise their “services” without impacting other players. E.g. sifting through 3 dozen WTS ads in the M+ and raid que’s. Give them their own tab.
They wont. Why? Blizzard wants you to see those ads or they would have changed it already. At the end of the day they are makign money off of this and the unfortunate side effect is that players need to waste their time sifting through ads and turning off features of the game, such as trade chat, in a game they pay for with real money.
I find it insulting frankly and am already starting to regret having gotten a 6 month sub. All that has changed so far is the ban on broadcasting software. The WTS ad abuse is worse now than when i left 6 months ago.

People use discord to buy boosts rather than trade chat. It will never go away. Blizzard doesn’t want it too. People buy wow tokens and then they use the gold to buy boosts. Blizzard will never want anything to go away that’s making them money.
I hear this before from multiboxers … way to many players complaint about spam and undermine value of achievement that boosting will stay how it is. I bet it will be regulated be end of year.
This is all fair and legal by any means. It’s an in-game service, paid for by in-game currency. And regardless of Blizzards take on the topic this behaviour will always exist, just like some people choose to RMT as well.
Because at the end of the day as long as there is a demand, there will be a supply.
Fun fact: most of all the people who BUY boosts are actually high-end raiders / M+ / arena players themselves who have tons of gold and want to gear up alts quickly.
I’ve done alot of boosting this expansion and it’s a common misconception.
Besides that, it’s paying with an ingame currency for an ingame service / item. Nothing wrong with that.

Why should they, just boost some people yourself if you’re jealous that they’re earning gold this way.
They can bypass this system by using 2-3 character in the same time.
The truth of the matter is, After tokens became a thing and people started being able to buy gold with real money, the boosting basically became a pay to win concept.
But here’s the issue with wanting it gone.
1- The economy really is reliant on the boosting as one of the most important methods of obtaining gold.
2- The token system, while making it a possibility, is still a very good one which allows players who put the time, to not pay for their own playtime and enjoy the game for free.
So while it may be a no brainer that it’s a bad thing, even though some people just love to come up with all sorts of weird excuses to justify how this obvious pay to win, isn’t a pay to win system, generally it’s just a thing that we have to deal with.
