I answered the first post, didn’t bother reading the whole thread.
If game play is sacrificed for lore then you would have a sub par game, no one would play it and the lore would then be rendered totally irrelevant.
Of course Blizzard are taking every opportunity to make money, they’re a business, that’s what businesses do. It’s no secret conspiracy and it’s the way all businesses work. I also believe that if the shareholders/stakeholders thought that Blizzard wasn’t maximising their income they could sue the company, so there’s a legal obligation for them to do exactly what they’re doing.
How is it possible to play the game for 10 hours and not progress?
You’re either working with a very fussy definition of progression, measuring progress through something that does not lend itself to measurement or you’re simply not trying to progress.
It is simply not possible to play this game for 10 hours in a way where progress can actually be measured, and not see it.
And if you’re expecting to see progress when engaging in an activity without gradual development (like mount drops) you may as well ask why you can’t find lions in the aquarium.
I would argue blizzards stance is where lore interferes or impairs with gameplay aspirations it gives way. Otherwise the two coexist.
The idea all lore serves some gameplay purpose is nonsense. There is lots of lore relating to the Three Virtues of the Holy Light for example which has no effect on how Paladins play, their abilities or such. This stuff existed in Warcraft before the WoW branch existed. It simply serves to flesh out the world, as do several other pieces.
I agree that gameplay takes priority, because as you said, rich lore in an unplayable game is null.
I’ve had stints of 5 hours on occasion and in that time I managed to go from 1 essence slot to 3, acquire essences, run some mythic+ bump my ilevel and upgraded my cloak. If you can’t manage one of those things in twice the time, what on earth are you doing?
WoW has its delusional fanatics, just like every other game. They themselves believe they are the biggest fans and contributors…
… when in reality, the only thing they contribute to is making the game worse. They enable the company CEO’s by defending anti-player system to make the game even worse.

I think saying that “15 mins” response time would be exaggrating it much. Even if you did get a respond in a short time like that, it wouldn’t be like that everytime. I usually get response at least a day after, when I submit a ticket. Which I find reasonable anyway considering how many tickets would be around awaiting response.
Then you are likely online at a time, which they are online, actively checking for tickets and responding to them. It’s happened to me a few times but usually a day after I submit the ticket (even if I am online.)
They do, if I’m online. I was talking about the response time. Even if I’m online with a ticket submitted I don’t get a response shortly, it usually takes a day before I get a response.
