You really try to convince me that people will still pay 40 Euro if they didn’t get the “bonus” stuff? Please… most poeple buy it ONLY for that. THAT is the problem. As long as people spend money on stuff that should be obtainable in-game, they WON’T add stuff like that to the game. Why would they, when people are stupid enough to throw money at them?
Not too long ago the game in itself was enough, if it was bad, the company just had to make it better so people kept playing. Nowadays they can do a half-assed job, cuz they know people like you will throw enough money at them. Which is why the game doesen’t get better.

I get the dislike for the ingame shop, I don’t mind it, I like it tbh, but I like having the option of gifting something to a friend or just buying me a fun gift once in a while. The token is more depressing to me, but it also helped me a lot so.
Historically, they offer a discount post Blizzcon for people who only want the items.

You should study how a business works. Spoiler: they want to make as much money as possible, as easy as possible.
Also study consumer behavior. Most people don’t care (see mobile gaming). They just wanna have a good time. What is 39.99? It’s like 2 trips to the Cinema. I get that not everyone can afford it, but you can also buy it with GOLD, just need to be good at selling boosts.

If I want something and can afford it, why would I forbid myself to make the purchase ?
I don’t like store mounts either or greedy stuff like loot boxes but if I see something with a price and I know what I’m going to get (aka not lootboxes) I’m fine with that. It’s not something I do on a daily basis anyway. Also there are many things and pets that can be unlocked only with achievements.
Blizzcon rewards have been there since YEARS. Nothing new here so stop complaining and creating drama when there’s 0 reason to.
