Blood elfskintones why is it a problem?

Didn’t even know about that, but you are right, I don’t care about the night elves :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Seriously though, it doesn’t look like a copy of the human skin colours at least. I guess that is what Blizzard considers dark for night elves and that is fine. Imagine how weird it would look if the night elves had been given the same skin colours as humans.

For you, you have every right not to care about lore, but I do care. Specially the lore of my favourite race.

I usually go in rated bg’s with a group that has 2.4+ exp. And these players are the more “hardcore” stressed out players that rage at everything. Perhaps playing at low rating with calmer people is better and would of been less stressful. You’re lucky you haven’t encountered any of this.

I’m sorry. I thought 2k+ rating was enough to contribute to the conversation.

I honestly no longer know what racist means in 2020.

People seem to be more sensitive than Emo kids, just looking for a excuse to get triggered and start a fight.

Here’s the lore for you.

  • During the summer of 2020 a bunch of elves went to a beach holiday in Stranglethorn Vale and spent too much time in the sun during the heatwave.

Yeah well, the furry thinks it’s not. So GIT GUD

if the black skintones is a problem for you, you have a problem. because these skintones have nothing to do with lore. where does it say blood elves can not be black. where, i have more then 60 Wow books please tell me where does it say Blood elfs are white/pinkish. so you protecting the lore is bllsht

It’s just a skin color so someone who is dark and wants to create himself as a Elf, can easily do so. Especially since Thalassian elves have this almost “Human” skin tones.

I saw an amazing art of a High elf Silver covenant woman with Black skin. Very very beautiful. More art like that should be made to show the beauty of this new customization. It’s just a skin color, no need to make a fuss.

If anyone is interested about the picture of the “Dark skinned” Fan made art High elf , you can find it here. Comment number: 2001 (Anyone who can post picture, please do!)

But that’s the problem with Forums. People can be so opinionated without thinking who they hurt in the process. During this day and age, we should be more supportive to one another.

i know that is why i don’t understand why people are angry about the black skintones. it’s a game never was it mentioned there are no black blood elves. infact in the real world they still descover creatures we have never seen before. the black blood elves might have always been on Azeroth we just have never seen them. like we have never seen void elves before. people are crying about the skintones for the wrong reason. go check out venthyr we have never ever heard of them. it’s good shadowlands isn’t live yet. so blizzard has enough time to delete them before they piss people off

If you think I have a problem with dark skin you need to go back and read what I’ve posted. They are human skin tones, copied and pasted on the blood elf model and they are jarring.

Also nice drop in civility there, but I guess nowadays disagreeing with someone means you get to resort to personal attacks.

Bruh… the void elves at least had a lot of lore with them.

People are aren’t racist, they would just like to know where all these black and Asian characters suddenly come from. That’s it.

The triggered people, are those that use the argument “Well, it’s not mentioned in the lore, so therefore it is against the lore.”

I don’t mind humans getting features that reflect real life humans, but I get that having some sort of lore explanation would be nice. The problem is:

HOW?

Remember, it’s 2020. So if we say that the Asian looking humans hail from Pandaria, bruh… that’s racist.

And if we say that the black humans come from the STV jungle… brruuuuuh, also racist.

Everything is racist these days, and Blizzard respectfully doesn’t want to deal with this garbage. They JUST want players to be able to reflect themselves in the game visually. That’s it.

To hell with the lore, who cares about the lore anyway?

I mean did you play BFA???

BFA LORE???

Please…

I mean OP is probably 3 years old from the way he speaks, or else totally naive. Just don’t mind him.

oh i have nothing against you as a person. but your thoughts is bothering me. never ever has the skintones of blood elves be mentioned in lore. because we only know they for their pale skin doesn’t mean all of them are pale. in not a single book about world of warcraft has the skincolor of Blood elves been explained. your idea’s about the lore are wrong. it’s good you have a passion about the lore. but you have a problem when you have your mind set on one thing and one thing only

WoD: btw orcs can be brown, grey, black, white, red ignore the old lore etc.

Players: cool

SL: btw several races can now have purple eyes, golden eyes, red eyes, ermmm yeah lore or something. Btw trolls can now have sandfury skin…ummm…yeah sorry there’s no lore on sandfury joining horde though…if it makes you feel better goblins can now be blueish green…but yeah there’s no lore on that…alright so blood elves can have dark skin…

Some players: OMG WHAT WHERE IS THE LORE FOR DARK SKINNED BELF STUFF WITHOUT LORE SHOULDNT BE IN GAME.

Btw Chronicles (the precedent on lore, superceding the oft referenced “Sunwell source”) states only they lost purple hue. Chronicles is canon over Sunwell, therefore you follow Chronicles.

According to Chronicles there is NOTHING about belf having necessarily pale skin. It simply stopped being purple. If night elves can be dark purple and light purple, why is it crazy for belf to end up with light and dark skin(

Are you a troll ? It’s clearly been mentioned that the highborne’s skin turned white after they went away from the well of eternity, the sunwell further making them look like they do today. They’ve always been described as “fair skinned” so please stop your bs.

Your examples of Orc skin tones and the eye shades, however hamfisted you see them, were both given justifications.

Orcs had in fact always been red/brown until Azeroth. Just look at Garrosh.

i bet you are a troll. but go on tell me what book which pages. prove me you are not a troll otherwise you are not worthy talking too

And white, black and grey orcs?

No precedent

No prior lore

No problem for players. Apparently

Also orcs being brown was made up on the spot in TBC. No prior lore existed before then, it was retconned that their skin changed green. Nobody seemed to mind that.
So why does belf need “prior lore” to be black? Just make it up like it was for orcs. Boom. There we go.

well said. people just have a problem with the black skintones. which is horrible it has nothing to do with lore. it’s 2020 people. if you have a problem with the black tones fine just keep it too yourselfs

I think the issue being cited is that Blizzard isn’t making up anything for them like they did for the Orcs.

Yeh where i nthe lore is it that all these races can now have red, yellow, purple, pink, blue, green etc eyes now. All this complaining about void elves or blood elves getting blue eyes, but lets forget all the lack of lore about every race having multi colour eyes.

But you see, Orcs are monsters, that’s why people don’t care.

Allow black Vulpera or any other horde clown race from the zoo to be black, it doesn’t matter.

People get triggered, when the human look-a-likes get different skin tones. Because they are human look-a-likes. And let’s be perfectly real here.

Paxmillian, can you be real for a moment? Really real?

Because we both know, that racists are using the lore as a excuse to try and revert the cosmetic change. They are pretending to be lore fanboys… but they’re not.

We know…
