I got same problem.
I got a suggestion, since we pay for monthly sub why they just halt on our sub if the problem insist so we wont like pay for a day for not playing ? just renewed my game time and this amazing kicking comes.
i was in the game then this happened im now in a 2 hour queue… draenor open the free transfers to anywhere they want not dead realms.
oh nvm the game is working now, rejoice and lets finish the quests! 
Same, it seemed so awkward, then I saw Ddos attack post on twitter. Still I think in times like these, they should give free playtime for the players for the time they couldnt play. Its not the first and it will not be the last.
