So annoying, that event gives the bis gems for most classes.
Can’t be that much work to fix a small bug that’s causing issues for so many people.

managed to collect all citrines yesterday.
What helped for us on the boss, was to tank him on the right side.
When you enter the cave, go right, and tank him just right of the little island he spawns on.
Make sure everyone is deep in the cave.
There would be an easy fix: just put the gems on the vendors - even if only for the time until the proper way of getting them can actually be fixed, but that way those of us who already wasted time to get them are at least recompensated a little.

That’s not the problem. As written above - several times we did everything correct: boss was only pulled when everybody was inside and deeper into the cave; the bonus objective message came two seconds into the fight before the boss even changed once or a little later even if he didn’t change toward the entrance.
Some stated it’s probably due to the timers of the events overlapping because they upped the frequency of them happening - or something like that; it probably works now and then on less populated servers while full ones respawn it too quickly; so it’s once again blizz “fixing” something too quickly instead of doing it right from the beginning.
Good point, at least temporarily until they fix the situation.

The way me and some friends did this event (after numerous tries initially, with back of the cave and what not) was this:
- Once event is up go in and pull him outside (to the entrance). This will end the event, but dont despawn him
- Tank him at the entrance and dont dps until next event is up (dont go too far out or he will reset) and
- Kill him once you see the event again (we could kill him before the wall was blasted)
- Alternatively it did happen that he got pulled too far out and reset. You can use a lock pet to aggro through wall and kill him
Its very important that everyone stands near entrance or he will charge and reset

I find the current situation completely unacceptable. Threads of people speculating how they think it works best not to bug a simple event. “Put your hand on your belly and rub counter clockwise - it worked for us!”
From the timegating that Blizz walked back to a ridiculous bug on the the bisx2 event the island has been a miserable experience. Good luck if you have aspirations for alts too.

Just make the bugged gem available from vendor without killing the mob that drops it, until its fixed.
Well, at least one can buy the gems for those alts after they were obtained once… and the 50 ore are actully a very acceptable price; the bugs and timegating though, urgh… TWW really lives up to its “The Bug Within” nick name.
Nah the workaround giving consistent results is out there, people just don’t know how to search the internet.
And before anyone complains I don’t throw the bone. It’s the reset method, discussed above in this thread and COUNTLESS others.
Everything else is just pure new age BS. Working sometimes out of a luck because of the nature of the bug.
Its actually fascinating how people dont communicate when standing at the entrance. Everyone seems to have their own agenda , some are there for the citrin, some for the boss only and some for trolling and some dont know why they are even there.
It shows how much mmo genre tend to be more individually based and events like this are supposed to fail since players dont communicate.
This. Tbf just make all of them purchaseable, because at this point everyone has 10 gems at least, they are missing 2, 1 or none.
Its even more fascinating that theres those of us that keep trying to communicate, only to end up taking to the human equivalent of a brick outhouse.
I can talk and talk and talk, if theres 20 people there, 19 listen and 1 doesnt, all was for nothing…

I mean, i could be more understanding if that was the case, language barriers are tough. But those that do and choose not to listen, they are the worst.
It would be nice if something happened, because it’s pretty funny that you can’t even do an event properly anymore. There’s zero communication from Blizzard, as if they don’t care. I don’t care that Christmas is almost here. People are getting used to it now and then you have to spend your time worrying about what’s supposed to be not working.
All this tips on how to do it and how to bug him out does my head in, players screaming not to attack and then we stand there and dont attack and then all of sudden ppl do attack , get the gems while the rest just stands there not knowing we now can attack. Blizz should just fix this crap, this has been going on from the day this started…

It would take 10 min to put these 3 gem into the same shop the other gems are, if theya are unalbe to fix the bug affecting the boss who drops it…
