Isn’t she basically Faols student?
Faol who trained Uther as well?
Faol who has no history of horde affiliation? (Wiki says alliance and scourge only)
So the leader of the undead is a former student of an alliance aligned archbishop which was raised by the Naaru which are revered by Draenei through the light making her an entirely different category of undead with probably all sorts of weird consequences and she claims shes like other forsaken…
It feels like an attempt at game of thrones like obfusciaton of loyalty and idk it sucks for the forsaken because in every way shape or form Calia’s and her master’s former affiliations we’re all alliance and/or church of holy light
They want to push for Calia Menethil to stop the war.
With Baine, Lor’themar, Thalyssra, Thrall, Zekhan (for some reason filling in despite being a low rank footsoldier, as Blizzard forgot to make a new leader for the trolls after Vol’jin died) and Callia being pro-alliance, it seems peace WILL COME since every bloodthirsty maniac will be stuck for years in the Shadowlands anyway.
Anyways, no point playing horde anymore. After what, about 10 years playing ONLY horde, I now find myself starting anew on an Alliance realm with Alliance character. The Horde’s just not there anymore. Oh well, at least I’ll check out alliance storylines. Haven’t played alliance since WotLK.
She isn’t though.
Nothing in that confirms that Calia is the new leader of the Forsaken. There isn’t even any basis to believe that she is.
She appears in a cutscene with Valeera Sanguinar (Another Neutral character). Does this mean by the same logic that Valeera is taking over one of the Horde races as its ruler? Which one? Orcs? I mean Lor’themar is there, so it can’t be Blood Elves.
There is absolutely zero evidence she is taking over anything, it is not referenced. We know that Lilian Voss -seems- to be on the Horde Council, but does not believe she is the right person to lead the Forsaken (She’s right, she’s a lone wolf type, and whilst interesting, not leader material)
So yeah, no evidence at all that Calia Menethil is the new racial leader of the Forsaken.
Ironically Sylvanas has just forsaken the forsaken. She has betrayed them. Why on earth would they follow her?
Again, No, Tyrande is not already dead, this is a simple mistruth, we do not need more Kaldorei pity threads. Tyrande is not dead, and features in the top end Covenant storyline in Ardenweald.
Guess what happens in the Night Fae campaign storyline.
I’ve read the only sources so far released. What do you think happens in the Nigh Fae campaign storyline?
We learn that Tyrande is going to die as a price to pay for those Night Warrior powers she got. Without actually doing anything…
No, we don’t, we learn that the previous Night Warriors learned that if one mortal tried to contain the powers, it would kill them, BUT that they learned how to avoid that fate, which is something Tyrande could easily do.
We do not learn that Tyrande is going to die. We learn that if she does not take the same steps as the previous Night Warriors, that she will likely die.
At no point is it confirmed she is dead.
I waited Darkspear troll and green Orc get new leader for both races
But, I don’t unsure Rokhan now leader for trolls? I checked page.
Well we’re only really missing a dead body, and do you expect the writers at Blizzard to not use the opportunity they set up to kill Tyrande? I mean she served her purpose as the Night Warrior already (not really, but the writers said so) so no reason to keep her around.
We’re missing a dead body, any description of it actually happening, and any reason to believe it is actually going to happen. What we -do- have is NPC’s giving plot reasons as to why it can be avoided.
So far I’m seeing more reasons why Tyrande -won’t- die, than that she -will- die.
And why would Blizzard kill off Tyrande. People really need to stop with the Kaldorei Pity train. When people actually start to believe that a games company in California have a pathological hatred of an entirely fictional race in a fictional world then a reality check is needed.
There is nothing indicating Tyrande dies. Absolutely Nothing. Yet people are already complaining about it as if it were a fait accompli…
They are literally complaining about something that has not happened, and we do not have any reason to believe will happen. Surely you can see how bonkers that sounds?

She will die UNLESS she shares the burden of the Night Warrior since it’s to much for 1 mortal vessel to contain.
If the writing throughout wow history for the Night Elves, the only likely outcome is Tyrande dying. Every other outcome would be outstanding
Seems like something that will fail again.
Aside from the fact nobody wants Calia and it would be remiss for Blizzard to push her into that role…
Nothing here suggests Calia will be leading The Forsaken, if anything it heavily implies Lilian has taken up some leadership duties. She’s still a glorified therapist for now.
A few exceptions does not change the fact that the “faction war” is waged along racial lines.
Making it a race war by definition.
Okay ignore the exceptions, what about the fact that it’s nations that happen to be different races, and not an entire race in any occasion (during the faction wars at least)
The nations don’t “happen” to be of different races.
The nations formed around the races as a group. The playable ones at least.
There are several troll tribes and such, but most of them aren’t involved in the race wars between the Alliance and the Horde.
That makes any conflict between the nations race conflicts by definition.
As the enemies are identified by what race they are, not what banner they are fighting under or what tabard they’re wearing.
And all members of this or that race are either barred from entry to the cities or viewed with extreme suspicion. Even if they are faction neutral or members of faction neutral organizations.
Such as Valeera being treated like crap by most people in Stormwind just because she’s a Blood Elf. Even though she’s friendly to the Alliance and their king.
Or Tyrathan Khort having to stay hidden during Vol’Jin’s funeral despite them being friends, as he would not be allowed to attend because he’s a human.
I’m not saying it’s a “bad thing” that it’s a race war… I’m just pointing out that it is in fact a race war. In many fantasy settings that is the case, because your enemy is not your enemy based on their political or religious beliefs or their morals… They are your enemy depending on what race they are.
I don’t like the Alliance vs Horde focus, no matter whether one calls it a “Faction War” or a “Race War”.
I hope we see more of that bloke, I really liked his character in ‘Shadows of the Horde’, and it was good that they threw him into Vol’jin’s wake, even though you had to go looking for him.
Does make me wonder how hard Renzik 'The Shiv’s life is though, I mean he -is- the Second In Command of SI:7, whilst also a Goblin.
Wouldn’t mind seeing more of him as an NPC also. I -think- Kelsey Steelspark as GCO head and Mathias Shaw himself kind of have that whole ‘Alliance spymaster’ vibe sewn up between them though.
I agree, he’s an interesting character.
The Goblins have always been more “neutral” than the other Horde races.
But I imagine his life got harder once a Goblin cartel joined the Horde in full.
Even if SI:7 and their personnel would probably not care, the average Stormwind citizen might view him with suspicion.
He was present in BfA, infiltrating the Undercity.
I wish they used him more openly and visibly for players, but I guess it makes sense he’s more of a “field agent” as he can blend in more easily than Humans and Gnomes do.
Can’t help but feel like she’s a plant by the alliance to cause some drama within the horde.
(I’m old school and she’s not and will never be my banshee queen. )
