If i would be “jealous” i would want this possibility of transfer given i dont have what i listed on retail. Yet im still against it. Even the black proto that im going to get regardless on classic that isnt available on retail.

I would be for it if they also start new fresh classic vanilla servers so I can get all the items removed from retail.

If they don’t then I’m against it because they simply didn’t tell people before and only “the lucky few who still play wotlk” get to get these items.

Hate to break it to you but as somebody with a metric ton of unobtainable items and as someone who actually knows a ton of people with Corrupted Ashbringer: Most of these Ashbringers were farmed in TBC, not Classic, and most of the people owning them now bought the account from someone else and did not farm any of it themselves.

Edit: And don’t get me started about the account dupers that sell transmog and achievement unlocks. It’s a massive rabbit hole that Blizzard isn’t doing anything about no matter how often I report these people.

It’s about time that people woke up to that reality, Blizzard included, and that they will actually start reimplementing removed gear and weapons back into the game.

Personally, I would like them to return some old things, at least the CM Dungeons from MoP and WoD, similar to return of the Mage Tower. Or everything else as you already mentioned, but only if they are tuned/scaled to current content level, so these older content would be still challenging as they were before. But they would reward the original things as before, So I think that would not depreciate prestige of these rewards.

I know some things are meant to be time-limited, and as always have been. However, I would still like CM Dungeons from MoP and WoD to return with current content level difficulty.

If they allow Classic → Retail transfer I am sure Blizzard will take the opportunity to start new fresh servers from Vanilla to the last Classic expansion to capitalize on people who want to do that. But this time having Classic servers from the start collecting data about transmogs and achievements. It would be a good economical move because this will allow them to gain money from Classic expansions a second time.

Still “farmed back in the days”. You broke nothing im afraid.

It’s gonna be a No from me.
They said that classic things would not* transfer over to retail so you couldnt get removed items and achievement that you didnt get before in retail from doing classic.

A big reason why I didnt do much in classic is because it wouldn’t benefit me in retail in any way so I just kept playing retail.

If they change that it means that I will have lost the chance to get them twice on my retail account.

The only good reason for transferring a classic character to retail is for these removed rewards.
Because once you sent it over to retail the characters look will change, the level will change, the stats on the gear will change and the racial and class abilities will change.
And reaching that level is super easy in retail so transferring it for that reason is not logical either. You can probably level up a character to that level before the transfer has been completed.

YES, please! And also please make transfers from Retail to Classic, with ALL the gold! And if you can come up with the way to make retail bots transfer to classic en mass, it would be awesome… Please Activision-Blizzard, mess that game up as much as possible, make it an unplayable hell, just to make one more dollar.

It will be glorious, I can already see it. On one side you’ll have the transfered elitist minmaxers who can’t even go to toilet without all the potions, on the other side you’ll have bots going over resources like a swarm of locusts and gold selling on every corner. Ah classic, just the way it used to be back then. Thank you, Activision-Blizzard, you’re the best

Why anyone would wanna give up on their main which players are playing with many expansions? Also in retail leveling is easy.

There is only one reason I wanna transfer my classic char - to get some mog like corrupted ashbringer or unobtainable title. But I woint give up my main in retail.

Sure, IF you leave behind items/mounts/achies which are no longer available.

No, the classic community is awful. I don’t want them in retail.

This is why I dont agree with the fomo garbage and removing content from the game… it doesnt make sense.

People dont play classic wow for nostalgia.

Yes but you need to understand that the way these people portray the value of it is by pretending they got it originally in classic.

FOMO is a virus, and the hosts defend its right to exist.

Probably the most insidiously clever bit of game design Blizzard ever did.

When talking about removed Classic things people always talk about the same things: Tier 3, Ashbringer, some title or mounts, etc but they forgot that 90% of items that were removed with Cataclysm were trivial things. I talk about some gree items dropped from NPCs removed in Cataclysm, or blue and epic loot from dungeons and raids revamped in Cataclysm or after that. Trivia things like Defias Set or Bones Set that no one cared to collect before there were transmog because people who collected items before that collected things harder to get like Tier 1 or 2. Items that ironically are still available in Retail while the trivial items don’t.

Also, those trivial items have another injustice with them. Not only players that started after Cataclysm don’t have it. Most old players don’t too, because those items were removed between Cataclysm and WOD yet the transmog collection wasn’t added into the game until Legion.

All those things should return to the game. I think it would be fair to restore any Classic and TBC transmog that were available more in WOTLK because getting those things was trivial to get during WOTLK, so restoring won’t make old players lose any value (probably old players with trivial items don’t even exist), trivial items don’t have a value, in fact, it will help old players who had those items back them but deleted them before Legion to finally have access to those transmogs.

Other things that have been removed before WOTLK or at the end of the expansion it was introduced could remain deleted, but those trivial items should be available, preferable by restoring the old Azeroth map to Retail using Classic data.
