Blizzard: Lets make a fun quest where you get drunk and see pink elephants

EU Ratings board:

Not the best idea.
Especially as you can buy in-game gold with real money.

I remember pink elephants in Shattrath for something
that was a very long time ago now though
 TBC maybe?

But UK isn’t in eu so

House always wins.
So in theory (and probably practice too) yes it would take gold out of the economy.

But I would say that’s still a long way to go before it “fixes” the economy.

The WoW economy will never be fixed with the WoW token.

It was a Brewfest quest - I think we only had it for one year - maybe two?

We had the quests for a while in the early days
then they had to be disabled. So it is possible that during TBC we had the quest but then the EU ratings board put their foot down with a firm stiletto heel and Blizzard were forced to disable them.

I agree, sadly though most of the EU regulations have been taken as our own and the UK does not have it’s own ratings board, so simple answer would be to follow the rules of the EU
 again
 sadly.

Still using it.

I totally agree with bmah as gold sink option
I would pay millions to get hands on challenge mode gear or something so rare and so good, rather than farming items with 0.0001% drop chance or never have chance to obtain some item because they are removed from game.

It probably would help the economy, however since Blizz made it so in game gold has real world value with the token it wouldn’t be possible without breaking some serious gambling laws.

It would have been fine before the token introduction and the only way to get gold being playing the game.

Ask yourself if gambling has saved ANY economy, video game or reality.

Well, when it comes to online poker

Kidding aside, it would open a can of worms to say the least.

Well you can be a Zandalari for more

I think during the first iteration of the event they were available, remember getting the wolpertinger by getting drunk.

I loathe gambling and WoW in it’s current state is already RNG casino.

You really want to put people up with stuff like gambling addictions and such, and don’t forget there’s also children playing the game.
Not to mention the whole legislation involved in it, because a lot of countries have specific laws when it comes to gambling.
It would also mean that they would have to raise the age to 18+ or maybe even 21+ in some countries to get around this.

I’m really pleased that our southern neighbours the belgians have banned loot boxes for example, at least they still have a good moral on that part.

So gambling in an MMO? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLL NO!
If you like to gamble so much find any website that’s willing to steal your money from you if you’re willing to part with it so badly.

Sounds about right. In the EU we can at least buy the quest reward we would have got with tokens, so although we don’t get the quest, we don’t lose out on the reward.

They told asmongold to stop doing death rolls on EU servers because some of the countries have very strict gambling laws and this might get Blizzard into trouble.

It’s pretty safe to say that there will never be gambling for gold in WOW, simply because gold now has a monetary value attached to it. You can buy gold with real money, there is direct conversion officially condoned by Blizzard.

Want to gamble? Go to goldshire and play death rolls. Just make sure to not stream them

As much a rng solved gearing.
