Yeah I dont really like her voice. She seems like always over the top. I know millenias of being in a jail makes you spiteful… but she is a cartoon villain.

Some of the voice acting is great, but sometime it’s not and it’s a bit goofy. I agree the Dwarf lady for the Dragonscale Expedition is pretty irritating. Meanwhile the Blood Elf lady is voiced beautifully.

As a Scottish person, I cringe whenever I hear most of the “Scottish” accents in this game - but I accept that people don’t play the game for authenticity in the voice acting! Accents are always butchered in MMOs; some might argue that that is part of what makes them enjoyable.

Whenever they are going with a particular theme or nationality they really do hit that accent with a sledgehammer!LOL
But then again I suppose with people from all over playing the game they kinda have to signpost things that obviously.

Although the scottish one is pretty bad. You can tell because any remotely emotionally dialogue with that accent just sounds very pantomine.

I’d rather keep the voice acting and have the mute option for those that don’t like them.

I really enjoy most WoW cutscenes. They are much better than the ones I saw levelling in FF but granted I never made it to end game. It just wasn’t the game for me. Those I did find cringey so I guess it’s all down to individual tastes.

They got so much better with time. The difference can be jarring when you go back from current content, but dealing with hours of content you don’t enjoy is not something I’d recommend

to be honest, Mystakria voice over sounds like an adult film actor ngl. its just strange to me.

I’d say, yes the game was always a bit childish, but also was a lot more edgy and dark, it balanced out. WC3 was riddled with dad jokes and silly voice lines, but they were never during important moments. The campaigns were serious, and conveyed their messages, but then you had silly units like the dwarven mortars, or the orc peons (and many many more). Not to mention the spam click jokes.

I feel it’s a bit like how the star wars movies evolved. The serious moments had gravitas, then you had comic relieves. Then episode 8 came and all of a sudden every character is a terrible comedian and every serious scene looses importance.

But to OP though… I think instead of removing these things, they should seek to improve it. I don’t know what’s going on in california, where they still seem to have strict 'rona rules, but it almost feels that lines are just sent around random voice actors with real basic briefs. No direction, no emotional context. Voice actors are supposed to get together in studios and go through lines together like regular actors. Bounce of each other.

Alexstraza sounds pretty poor, I don’t like speaking like that of people’s work but she’s marginally better than a text to speech program. The lady has a mad catalogue on IMDB (Wendee Lee), there’s no way that’s the best she can do. I suspect she was given absolutely no direction, and not all VO, experienced or not, self direct. Sylvanas, Bwamsamdi and Denathrious all were pretty good. Kadghar, Jaina and Wrathion are pretty hit and miss (imo at least). It just seems so inconsistent!.

PS: WC3 and wow are all rated 12+… Goes to show how much the tone of a game can change whilst being in the same age group.
