I would rather have consistent grind along the way, where the content is enjoyable. Now its 1/4 - afk , we all do it coz its free rep, not coz it is fun. the 3/4 facing premades. And most of the ppl do not premade coz it is fun ot “vital part of vanilla”, they do it coz it is efficient. That’s it.
Ez solution: alow no more than 5 premades in 1 WSG team. Now ppl can still play together, but pugs will be playing WITH premades VS premades.

Or a compromise of a 5 man group with no more than 1 healer. Otherwise we will get 3 priests, an FC and a hunter.
Cause thing is, not all servers have a premade scene so it’s solo or nothing.
You must have played some another, alternative version of Vanilla.
Your answer proves that you weren’t there in 2005. I was exalted to the three BGs, and I continued to do them despite everything, because it was fun, PUG vs PUG and VERY occasionally a premade which didn’t wasn’t as OP as it is today.
Vanilla =/= Classic.

Not everybody is a no lifer like you. Some of us actually have full time jobs and a social life. We can’t afford to play premades everyday because sometimes I just log in for one hour tops and I can’t even join a BG cause all I face are premades. If you are that good then you shouldn’t be worried to only face premades when you are in a premade.

Battlegroups came way later than classic 2005 (i.e. not enough players for a million premades), it was different on different servers and the general mentality of bgs was different, lots of people didn’t even lvl cap for a year and all low level brackets would pop, there were twinks.
in short, most bgs were not against premades
I usually don’t mention that, just like to see ppl proving their ignorance and let them show how clueless they are but here we go:
The cross server bgs came live about 4 months b4 TBC release. F-O-U-R months. You pretend to know how premades were a thing in vanilla. HOW? How do you know the situation in every god damn server and you say they were always a thing? Because there wasn’t a system to separate pres and pugs? Ofc. A lot of things weren’t there, from QoL to balance, settings/options and many more. So, you claim to “know” that is was like today? You know how things were in the 2 server I was playing back then when you don’t even know their names? 1 of them had only 1 serious pvp guild in horde side and that’s why i migrated when my irl friends quited and didn’t have many ppl to arena with.
So, asking again. How are you (and every premadeVpug protector) so sure that “iTwAsAlWaYsLiKeThIs”?
Rhetorical question because the answer is: you think it was like that because that’s how it was for about 10years in all pservers. full of premades and ppl grinding to r14
I mean, I don’t know about you, but back then I spammed PvP a ton. And it was fairly obvious when premade was involved.
There absolutely were premades and before battlegroups as well.
You people seem to have some memory/logic lapse - yes people were doing groups for BSs farming back then, I’m not sure why you think battlegroups magically created these.
Back then the premades were either 2-3 friends playing together or dedicated pvp guilds trying to stomp ppl. On some servers those guilds were 1-2 max. Everyone else was playing pvp for fun with w/e gear he had. Today you have many more trying to min-max their rep grind and gear plus the ques are cross server. Which makes it even more emphatic/obvious.
That today there are more premades, that’s a fact.
But don’t try to sell me some stories about how premades were not a thing back in Vanilla. It’s simply not true.

Ofc it’s not true. What’s true tho, is the fact that the situation wasn’t as it is today. That’s why ppl ask for changes. But ppl use the “iTwAsAlWaYsLiKeThIs” excuse to prove what exactly? That the system was like this? Yes ok, so? It was like this because the situation wasn’t as it is today. Once the situation started changing, the system changed too. It even changed in classic version, but took them about 2 years to do that (they did in tbc classic).
I mean… You talk about clowns and you use my forum avatar to prove what? If i was using my warrior, paladin, rogue, mage, or any other class in general would it be any different? Guess who deserves the clown’s red nose my friend.
