Can't enter server when choosing Chinese as text language

It’s not about allowing the Chinese on WoW EU realms. It’s illegal for them to be on WoW EU realms anyway (yes, seriously).

This is mostly for Chinese who emigrated or for people who want to learn Chinese.

Anyone is allowed to play on EU servers, you just cant use a Chinese language wow client to play on EU which means you would have to play in English (or another latin-based language)… I don’t think that will bar Chinese gold sellers from EU as if that was ever a problem (it certainly isn’t on US servers)

It does affect people who play from Asia though and cant play in the native language or even people who just want to switch the language for fun/to help learn it… Not everyone who plays wow in Chinese is a gold farmer or from china. if you want to play Russian on any china/taiwan/korea/US server there is nothing stopping you same with Chinese/Korean and any non-EU server.

There are a few issues here.
First, it is unfair as NA servers CAN have the game text in Chinese while EU cannot.
Second, and as been mentioned by Janek, having a client in English text isn’t really what’s going to stop gold sellers; and again, NA already have the game available in Chinese text, so it works for them but not for EU? really? why only restrict EU?
Third, You can type in Chinese ingame right now, you just can’t have the in-game text (quests, spells, etc.) in Chinese, so arguing against “People will just speak Chinese all the time” is silly as well, since you can do that right now, yet nobody does that. All we are asking is for the game text to also be available in Chinese. It is really only a matter of preference which makes a big difference for some players, myself included

well same problem for Russian servers.
I wanted to play on a russian server to see if my latency is better but I cannot log in because of language which is really stupid because they are linked to all EU servers anyways…

Won’t matter a bit. All EU servers are physically located in the same place.

I believe for most online games that have a Russian servers they’re not physically located in Russia. Maybe they’ll be lucky enough to have them a bit closer to Russia unlike WoW where all servers are in Paris.

except there not, Blizzard keeps 3 data centres in EU: Paris/Frankfurt/Amsterdam… Russian servers are in Amsterdam.

There used to be a Stockholm data centre as well. but as far as I know thats no more, doesn’t seem to be any servers that are still located there.

ok then it doesnt matter, but still strange that i m not allowed to play on their servers while ingame i can play with them
