My paladin is a true paladin and is still not using any corrupted items, didn’t even finish the questline for the cape as that would imply willingly obtaining and using corruption.
This also means that he cannot cleanse items at that requires the use of corrupted items oddly therefore it is not actually cleansing the corruption but adding more naturally.
your suggestion of making the items as BOE is interesting. On one hand, it ruins the market and floods it with excessive gears that i’m up for, because i hate the fact that BOE can sell for 1 mil gold or more if you’re really lucky at the early days of the patch. On the other, It makes the game pay to win. Even more than its current pay to win level of pay to win. You buy tokens, you’re good on gear.
The problem isn’t the catch up mechanics they implemented.
The problem is the fact that there are too many things you need to catch up on. Systems on top of systems on top of systems. Sure, it’s ok to farm azerite alone for a new character, or corruptions alone if it wasn’t a garbage vendor rotation, but it’s corruptions as well as azerite as well as gear as well as neck level as well as essence as well as cloak grind.
if you have some of the currency you use to buy the corruptions you can purchsse the upgrades from the vendor as well i believe.
