Still love how the shading on those makes it look like the dude have [bird named 4 letters starting on t that’s traumatizing to prudes].
Sigh, there is something off with how they color those things. Just doesn’t look right.
There is no hysteria behind it. Just righteous resentment towards it for a number of reasons, including but not limited to:
- It being unnecessary as no one actually wanted it.
- Appeals to no one but a fringe minority.
- Transparent that it was done because Blizzard’s scandal.
- Just another example of trying to disconnect biological sex within an intersectional ideology that tries to proclaim “There are no differences between men and women”, “Gender is a social construct” and “You can change your gender like you can change your clothes”.
Thankfully if trends are anything to go by, people are getting progressively sick of it, and are associating it with subpar quality games developed by talentless people who hate your existence (See Avowed’s Matt Hansen), so they’re turning away from them and going to games that actually respect them and make games that actually appeal to them.
Thank you for stating that it is a senseless change and that they should go back to using Male and Female rather than Body Types.

Why, it was unnecessary, because we’d all play regardless, but there were people who wanted it. It’s like with player housing: it’s unnecessary as well, but there’re many of us who’d love to have it. I didn’t yearn for the body type change myself, but given that it’s just a minor, nice, and harmless update, what’s the issue?

Nah, the scandal facilitated it, if anything. Wasn’t the reason, though!
The last point was spelled a bit too edgy but was ultimately correct! Indeed, that seems to be the intent, and I like it.
Thankfully, that change doesn’t have to do anything with how the games are being developed and what could be expected as the outcome. BG3 had all the options available, and that game was generally praised. Cybepunk came out bad at first but people weren’t angry at the body type options, they were displeased with all the bugs and narrative issues. Body types are still there in full glory, and, with the bugs all ironed out, the game is being rightfully commended.
Did this tiny minor body types thing really put you in such a temper?

I feel their absence, Puny. I’m glad we’re getting a tonne of low-fantasy hoods, shoulders, kilts and so on, but damn, an orc would rock that classic Red Sonja look so hard.

I hope they might appear as rewards in fame or on the trading post.
Same goes for the newer better pixels winter veil outfits. They appeared in the collections/transmog tab with no way to acquire them in game.
