Why would anyone cheat on that Multiplayer race event? There is nothing to gain. Also Ignore what you see on the screen, player might have been lagging etc. I had this think happen to my character few times for example where on my screen i saw My character standing on my mount in raid and few other people did saw it too and others did not. Game client is sometimes messing up with Visual Interpretation.
