A common issue i have with the post Legion art-direction. For some reason everything just feels kinda gray or washed out. Even colourful flowers.
You can do a bit to help it tbh
Contrast 55%
Brightness 55%
Gamma 0.9
It really helps.
Instructions unclear. Turned on Tritanopia filter.
Though more seriously, unfortunately fidgeting the settings wonât fix the underlying issue with the art-direction.
Not to say that the art direction is bad or anything, just that the colors in the environment needs to be contrasted better.
Edit: Huh apparently there was a new fog effect added at the end of SL.
Chris Metzen is the heart and soul of blizzard, glad to see him back. Just hope the company shows him the respect he deserves, and let his creativity blossom.
Heâs also really passionate. I canât wait to see what direction he takes the story in.
This is fantastic news, always respected Metzens vision.
or they realised that the they failed with stories for 11.0 and brought him back to save whatever is left there.

and gnomes incidentally look cuter
Which happened when Metzen was firmly part of the WoW team.
Itâs an overal aesthetic change thatâs been going on for many years.
Overal I think itâs a vast improvement over the old stuff; but it all comes down to personal taste.

Yes, some things were cute/funny. But it was still fundamentally inspired by Warhammer.
Just like in WarCraft 2 where itâs blood and gore and skulls everywhere but Hellscream is screaming like a 5 year old girl on drugs.

I should warn you all not to be too harsh at first. I suspect he may be fighting an uphill battle here.
I suspect we will be seeing his work in 12.0 or 13.0 at the earliest. I do hope he did have some influence on 11.0 though.

You could actually fix a lot of WoWâs art style problems with the engine. Lighting and stuff. Weâll see if anything happens.

Warcraft is almost 30 years removed from being a Warhammer clone.
So⌠Things changed.

So⌠Things changed.
They sure did. And not always for the better.
Blizzard states Metzen will be on stage at BlizzCon to share what he and the team have been working on for the past year.
No idea if he was involved with any of it but good news
Like I legitimately just went from not wanting to watch BlizzCon to wanting to watch it.

So⌠Things changed.
There is room for cute and room for dark in the game just some will not accept this, its always about them and there views nobody elseâs feelings the word compromise does not exist to some. Thankfully we have posters like you who are open minded <3

The art style doesnât bother me as much, I mean there is a clear tonal shift towards cudlies and cutesies but Idk It doesnât bother me as much. What mostly bothers me is the story and the dialogue. Also the pushing of western political narratives in said dialogue, like when that annoying lizard lady just out of nowhere just starts shouting âdown with the authoritarian regimeâ, I mean it sounds so modern and it rips you straight out of the setting.
And itâs free to watch!!!
