Good. It’s about time
Enhance still feels like dogsh*t despite 60% buffs to SS & LL.
Meanwhile:
Unholy doing up to 800k dps with dots and coil spamming from 30y range.
Evoker 100% uptime on snare immunity while spamming 90% snares on you.
MM being a tank despite 40+y range and uninterruptable S+ tier damage.
And ferals will fit right in with the uncalled for bleed buffs.
Did you miss the forum topic which asked for better feral mobility? They clearly need buffs according to some people here.
you forgot to add mm hunter to the list
People still thinking this after the recent patch notes aren’t seeing the bigger picture.
The meta’s shifting on wednesday and it’s a jungle/rmp meta. Locks are gonna fall off a cliff in rated 3s and im assuming DK too ( slightly less ).
What are you guys smoking? MM is literally C tier right now
You should consider stand up comedy. Your jokes are great.
This spec has held me behind in rating for so long time. I regret that I choose to main MM, its time to main lock mage or rog.
I recommend frost mage followed by aff lock. Rogue isn’t top tier atm. Its good but not great.
Perhaps.
I pvp on several classes/roles and in my opinion, the classes that are too strong have little counterplay;
- Disc Priest: not much you can do, the disc will have an insane throughput of both damage and healing while you perfect your rotation, cc, kicks in a grasping attempt at locking down this insane healer. The problem is that the damage and healing throughput is too high when taking into account the utility and defensives that this class currently ha.
- Unhoy DKs: while only OP to casters, with most melee’s being capable of dealing with it, this class has way too much CC and passive damage, locking casters into a whirlpool of inevitable death. I play mage, and it feels like no matter how much I teleport, throw him away, cc him, nova him and whatnot, we are basically playing Tennis with him waiting for me to use all my tools before I end up in his grasp. At this point, on my casters (that are not frost mage), if an Unholy DK grabs me, I just let him kill me. Might as well save my CDs incase someone comes and helps me, because they aint going to matter in a 1v1 situation in its current design. The problem with this class is that it has too much “come back to me” and too much movement reduction. Unholy DK will forever gatekeep versus A, B and C tier casters, only allowing the absolutely most broken of them exist.
- Affliction Warlock: this class has gotten a few more tools over the years to handle the lack of mobility. This is a meaningful change as warlocks have had many seasons of struggle in previous pvp seasons. However, in TWW Affliction Warlock find themselves in a perfect spot, packing a very effective toolbox for kiting, combined with an insane DoT damage output and an extreme defensive kit, making warlocks regularly shrug off a full Spartan Army as if it was a wind blow at a slightly higher velocity than usual. The problem with this class is that they seem to have it all. Strong defensives and strong movement shenanigans while having strong damage and that automatically pressures opponents as DoTs are a very free and inactive form of damage. Add the plethora of CC and Affliction Warlock’s have become the perfect child between a DF Assassination Rogue and a TWW MM Hunter.
One class I forgot but which I will add now, is Frost Mage.
- Frost Mage: is the caster version of Unholy DK. Where Unholy DK will gatekeep PvP by only allowing casters with enough mobility, or survivability, to escape its insane control, Frost Mage is the caster that gatekeeps melee. As long as Frost Mage exist in its current version, it will only allow melee with enough mobility to participate in pvp.
The conclusion here is that Disc Priest outshines pure healers while also applying additional pressure on dps, thus dwarfing all other healers as gimping yourself if using them, affliction warlock acts as an untauntable raid boss that requires a full 10man raid team to bring down, and Unholy DK/Frost Mage gatekeeps melee and casters, only allowing very few to excel whenever either of these classes are brought.
What should change?
- Disc Priest: needs reduced healing or reduced damage to let pure healing speccs shine. At the very least, one should expect a Disc priest to always be below pure healers in healing throughput.
- Affliction Warlock: should either have its mobility, its tankiness or its damage lowered to avoid a situation were this class becomes the main priority target in 99% of situations but not having a care in the world that it happens. How many times have you unloaded your entire CD burst damage just to watch the warlock still sitting at 100% health?
- Unholy DK/Frost Mage: needs a reduction in slow or damage. I am fine with bringing them as CC machines, but Frost Mages and Unholy DK should NOT be two of the hardest hitting classes at the same time. Completely ridiculous that Frost Mage hits harder than Fire Mage as an example.
Very good changes. Not going to lie.
If you are not disc priest game versus them feels exactly 3 versus 4… so only counter for disc priest is another disc priest…
Also priest has almost zero counterplay, there is no mistake he cannot fix, its nearly imposible to playmake to make priest without solution. Playing against disc priest is very BORING, and since people swarm like rats to paly something which is OP, if you are another healer 90% of your games will be versus discs like nothing else exist in this game.
Nothing’s really changed for lock mobility or defense , port/gate is exactly the same as the past 4 expansions.
if anything defense got weaker since they reduced demon skin’s passive by half in tww and removed the big drain life which used to be it’s greatest sustain.
Right now the reason aff manages to survive is due to two things: 1) damage. Since soul leech converts a portion of damage dealt into absorb, having high throughput is partially making locks tankier. 2) soul harvester’s hero talent which buffs dark pact by 50% is giving us a massive shield.
If you nerf aff damage you indirectly nerf it’s survivability plus forcing aff to swap out of soul harvester into hellcaller is another nerf to defense.
Overall, i wouldn’t rate locks as tanky right now. Still the same weaknesses we’ve had in a decade, locks are like dks, good into (some) casters and weaker vs physical.
This is mostly an arena observation, 3v3/shuffle mainly, the results can skew if we’re talking about other forms of pvp.
For most of things you sed in your reply i agree but if they nerf unholy againts casters againts who unholy will play.
Every melee is op againts dk.
Also dk not hit hard at all its all aoe dmg with this desease build and probably theres no dk that like that build we all playing it because single target clawing shadows dmg is currently really bad.
People still dont get that you dont have CC as heal Disc no kick and a meele fear you use quit a lot for defens
Ofc you need damage and healing otherwise why should someone play disc
According to Drustvar, ~50% of healers at rating 1800+ are disc priests, with the second highest represented class, Unholy DK, only being ~25% of the dps roster.
No matter what you say, we can see in the DATA that Disc is outperforming and thus must be considered OP, therefore requiring a nerf. We can disagree on what that nerf should be, however.
Currently, disc priest have no problem keeping up with other healers in throughput while having damage on par with many C and even B tier classes. Regardless of how you see it, Disc priest is essentially getting an extra dps buddy for the price of free, at least in terms of throughput.
You cannot deny that disc priest isnt too strong. The data clearly shows it. Denying this fact is cognitive dissonance.
Frost mages need to have alter time pruned
alter time should be for arcane and fire only …
they have way too many stops and mobility
They alrdy get one tommorow and for me archon should be more nerft, i never played passiv Disc with high mastery always disc with haste and damage build wich good player can easy shut down
I think healer will be balanced pretty good on wensday, one will be a bit better in BG Blitz the other in 3s one in 2s but overall good balance
The nerf is meaningful btw. because the current problem with PW: Shield is the stacking of multiple modifiers to boost it. They could’ve also reduce the bonus amount of the oracle tree alongside the 50% Nerf for weal and woe. Since absorbs (to which PWS is part of) are also affected by dampening, nerfing shields this way reduces Discs output in longer games a lot more than other healers.
I’ll trade alter time over turtle any day. I wish I could have it, mages have no idea how good they have it.
Mage is several tier above hunter yet they cry about us…
Our tranq is useless against alter time since they just press their triple absorbs right after alter so we cant dispel it. At this point I think tranq is useless because of this and I have already unbinded it and put it back to my spellbook.
I have decided to not to use it anymore… unless Blizzard makes it spammable.
