The guy has legitimate concerns though. No joke, I’ve seen a guy ask for 4k gs for heroics. Sure, he’s not the average, but it quite speaks for itself.
OP, really, the only solution is for you to do organized and planned raiding with a guild. They took my friend with 3.3 gs into all 25m raids. They don’t even need gear at this point and they are throwing epics right and left.
Pugs are absolute toxic and I only pug 10 m to farm valor. I got kicked from a Naxx 10 with 3.9 GS because I was missing some enchants and gems.
These people wanna be carried and they wanna reserve all the boe because they sell for good money, that’s all there is to it. It’s reaching ridiculous levels.
Save your sanity and get a guild. That’s all.
It has been the same trend for ages. Go try retail and see how you will always need to have the same average item level than what the raid drops. Annoying? Yes, probably. But what do you expect, of course people want the smoothest and fastest run possible and the way to achieve that is to overgear the raid. Classic is all about min-maxing, so of course this will happen.
For example, if you only need gear from KT in naxx 10 like most people do (unless you just dinged a week back), it is much more feasible to get a high geared group to get there quickly than to spend 3 hours clearing things just to kill that one boss which may possibly give you some loot. The faster the better.

No, even if you are experienced that doesn’t mean you have the right to demand people having same ilvl as your main, while your alt, you are gathering raid with, is in questing greens/semi pre-raid. Cross realm raid manual search tool had this neat feature, that you couldn’t set minimal median ilvl requirmend above your own.
Just join a guild and raid with them lol.
There is plenty of guilds looking for active raiders and will welcome u with whatever gear.
Raiding with pugs is the last resort if u for some reason can’t raid with ur guild this week.

oh yeah, espcially if you’re one of the classes that got screwed over in mana management for the expansion. I need to keep drinking mana pots between every expac or do 50% less damage, the train never stops.
Baseline is.
Make you own raid(you can also HR BoEs and GBID the key so you will also earn 20ish k gold)
Or join a guild.
What server are you on? I run a guild in Giantstalker and we’d love to have anyone and everyone who enjoys the game over the loot. No set schedule and just raiding for fun.
My point is, that at the end of the day if someone wants to start a PUG raid with poorer gear than others, then that’s just what it is.
