Mind y’all I’m speaking from the perspective of a WoW newbie and what’s put me off most of the times during my stay here.
This isn’t equivalent. You have to factor in the fact that people play during different hours and for some the timing of maintenance would mean they won’t play at all that day, hence more frequent maintenances for longer periods of time would lead to more days of the subscription left completed unused. That said monthly subscription is a thing of the past and they should work towards getting rid of it completely anyway, if they want the game to grow and attract new players, that is.
Perhaps you should look at in an hour of game time being far more valuable to the playerbase than the 20-30 cents Blizzard would lose in the process.
You’re missing the point. Dropping a wall of legal text is only there to get you out of potential legal trouble, it has nothing to do with serving the customer. Everyone does it out of necessity, and that alone. There is no need to be wise off about it, dropping a wall of text very obviously is not good communication
It’s precisely equivalent. That’s why I said it. There are 720 hours in a 30 day month, so the monetary value of every hour of downtime would be slightly less than 2 cents.
You must belong to the ‘I want everything given to me for free’ generation. Now I understand.
Nope, you’re just intentionally missing the point. An hour of game time is far more valuable to the players than the money you’re counting. You have to factor in the timing of the update and the fact that not everyone plays during the same hour. I don’t care about receiving 2 cents due to maintenance, I would however appreciate receiving the extra hour of game time.
And yet 2 cents is the precise monetary value of one hour of game time. It isn’t Blizz’s fault that your life doesn’t enable you to play WoW 24/7 365. Alternatively, they could process your subscription one hour later. It would work out the same.
If you give me the option to purchase an hour of game time for 2 cents, I’ll be happy to take the 2 cents and spend it when I have an hour to spare. Then it will be equivalent in value.
This is what you don’t understand. The value is only equivalent if the subscription is divided across all the hours the game is available to play. The length of time you choose to play has nothing to do with it.
I understand how it works and I’m not debating that, I’m asking for changes to it, as you are well aware. I simply asked for changes that I would appreciate as a fairly new player. The subscription system alone certainly puts off many new players - and knowing you have to purchase a subscription plan but having the game shutdown during the only hours you could play is not a very inviting deal. I also don’t find any reason you should debate against receiving an extra hour of gameplay as a player yourself, but each to their own.
Of course you get your information there. It wouldn’t be legally eligible if you didn’t. That doesn’t equate good communication or customer service though.
While i dont care for compansation, they do have an abnormal amount of maintenance with Dragonflight. We have 3-4 of them nearly every week, with the notice only a day before if we are lucky.
It is not a good situation and while the few hours arent a big deal, its a bit concerning do be honest.
Its mostly at 3 am in morning hardly a hardship for most people as they are asleep or at work.
I preff this with the new updates and change’s they are making instead of nothing being done. Its whining for whine sake now.
any new mmos i played giving compensation for such clown-show
Lost Ark give you couple days for premium (their subsciption system) and some consumables back
New World is f2p but they allso give hand outs if they f-up
in Elder Scrolls you got crown crates if zenimax waste your eso+ (they form of subscription)
Path of Exile never had such issues and imagine it has GLOBAL server
so yeah, no excuses for blizzard here my friend
either they give me item you got for your character birthday (1 day token that give you XP and Reputation gain 50%)
or they can lick my boot cause im out in 3 days anyway
Lost Ark— Dead
New World—Dead
Elder scrolls— Compared to WOW Dead
POE— Good game but made a complete clown show of the previous season and lost loads of players…
