"Correct" lore classes for reach race?

Well, this but with warrior.

Unless that’s something stupid, then ignore the race and forget about its existence. :sunglasses:

As long as it isn’t Fire mage, yes.

This discussion sort of reminded me that Blizz pretty much killed the old concept of Shadow priest in Legion and turned them into Void priests.

SPriests used to have an ability called “Devouring Plague”, originally a Forsaken priest racial spell, which made the Forsaken the iconic race for a Shadow priest. I’d say at the present the most appropriate race for SP is the Void Elf.

RP-wise it would be great to have a choice between Devouring Plague and Voidform in the Shadow talent tree, so we could choose between OG Shadow priests and the new Void priests, but gameplay-wise that might be tricky to balance.

Oh yea, and more on topic, Warlock is also a pretty iconic class choice for a Forsaken. I suggest people with plenty of free time to level a Forsaken Warlock in Classic; they have their own quests for the Warlock pets, and the succubus one in particular gets pretty damn dark.

The canon “deal” with SPs is their constant flirtation with insanity however; something the void elves are very actively fighting on a daily basis. So there’s an argument to be made that SPs are possibly the worst thing for a void elf to become.

In that sense, a warlock always made more sense to me. They’re all about control and manipulating dark powers, and their entire affliction spec is pretty shadow based.

I agree that shadow priest is best for the race of undead and void elves.

I mean, hunter kinda works. Lots of belf farstriders. Velf came from belf. The classes I posted more reflects the fact that umbrics group were mostly researchers and people fascinated by the occult and obscure, which the classes seems to fit.

They can work off each other, and I am sure if we are talking RP. The Void elf can hence his or her attacks. I forget what the Void elf hunters are called, umbral rangers?

Is this an actual name in WoW?

The void elven forces have a number of “class names” if you will. Rogues are typically called Ghostblades, hunters are Umbral Rangers, warlocks are Rift Wardens and so onwards.

I can not recall. I’ll give some looking around.

I saw NPCs named as Riftblade and went with the Riftbow because why not. Someone correct me though if there is an actual name for Velf hunters.

The Inhabitants section covers the ones I’m familiar with. Save for the Ghostblades for some reason, they’re outside the Rift itself.

And what is a Velf Mage called?

Mhm, Locus Researcher seems to be it.

Void elves are best suited to being locks, affliction specifically. That way they use shadow spells and have a void walker/lord.

imagine picking worgen instead of human for death knight
