I agree add it back in! But as a compromise to the legit players who got in in vanilla, all new players who have it have a permanent music buff that plays clown music when u wield it
dude i havent been living under a rock… yes they made us “champions” and that was also a big mistake… no one likes it
yeah ateish should come back aswell!
You dont like it. Also you cant just be some “lowly adventurer” with the killcount we’ve gotten. That ship had sailed already after Vanilla and most certainly after WotLK considering what Arthas said.
Nah they should never bring ashbringer back. New model yes, old one -no!!!
Imma be real, the only reason I want it, is because I wanna see the event in Scarlet Monastery.
no majority of people didnt like being “champion” thats a fact.
Tigole once mentioned that adding the Corrupted Ashbringer to the loottable was a mistake.
Praise The Kaplan
It is one of the rare events on rifts.
This is a bit spoilorish though. It’s in the scourge rift, the daughter of Arthas i believe shows up with the corrupted Ashbringer from another timeline. We defeat her and keep her corrupted Ashbringer which then just stands tantalising on top of a table near Sodormi, along with the other items.
Sure. If set behind a SUPER low drop chance, can only be attempted once a month. Account-bound restriction.
Or just… Add it to the Trading Post.
Who you think will get it: No-Life Sweatman who grinded for 9 months and never saw the sunlight or his family ever since, and has dreamed of owning it since he was 12.
Who will actually get it: Rich-Boy Boostie who will pay 2k to the million sites for the gold and the grind, and will flex it in front of Valdrakken AH like he owns the place.
This is the sad reality of “gold sinks” and grinds in WoW in 2023. There is zero prestige to it, you know it, I know it, everyone knows it.
Not gonna lie. I always wanted that, altho I’m not fan of grinding gold for it but it’s fine I guess? I already made 3m gold in 1.5 week just because i have 34 characters to run naxx weekly + some ZG. (But I guess I’m the minority, most people wouldn’t bother or don’t have as many characters). So I’ll get my T3 with relative ease within the next 1-2 weeks. But Corrupted Ashbringer should deffo be behind some amazing hidden/secret and long questline.
I always loved those secrets blizzard made. And while we are at it. Benediction/Anathema should come back aswell. I have it on my priest on vanilla classic. I don’t see why new players should never get these items just because there weren’t born back them or they were extremely young.
IF anything adding those items back into the game it gives something for a certain “category” -if you wish to call it like that- of players to do something to obtain those cool items.
Yh thats some great b8. Aint no way they added it into a time rift, and theres been 0 posts about it.
Seriously… there is an achievement ( edit: temporal acquisitions specialist) for getting all the optional quests. Corrupted Ashbringer is one of them. It’s listed on the achievement. Go check it.
I don’t care if you think it’s bait. Evidence is right there on the achievement.
Also, yes there were videos about it, which is how i found out.
Now do notice i didn’t say we can get it for ourselves. I said it gets displayed on the table near soridormi on the area where you start the rifts.
I mean i assumed it was obtainble, but i checked out what u meant, could be some setup for future aquisition. Hopefully theyll do smthn with it and not just leave it like that.
It drops of “yourself” (or whoever initiates the encounter first) during the scourge invasion. Youre the Hand of Arthas in the Azmourne timeline.
seems cool yh, sadge theres no current plan to evolve it into us actually obtaining the item
Because once everyone has it, nobody will use it.
Theres a reason why even tho T3 has about 3 pixels to the set, that people want to mog it, and thats because a low number of players have obtained it.
This im afraid is apart of blizzards internal struggle.
Everyone wants all the removed stuff returned, but the people who want it returned past obtaining it wont use it because its become overused due to their demands.
Its just players lack the forsight to reliese the only reason they want to obtain it is because of how rare it is and not geninuine use.
Nobody wants to be warrior#999991 wearing rhe identical set of armour.
People are so fast to screech gatekeep, nobody takes a moment to think about why some arent all that for its returning because both sides have valid arguments.
These sets are included in achievements that become harder the more you miss.
While these sets u will never use becsuse everyone has them
T3 is dead, if ashbringer comes back it will in turn be dead, trade post mogs are all dead, the mounts to join that score to boot.
Because their super common and accessible to all.
Tbf getting full t3 nowadays isnt cheap at all, maybe just slightly cheaper than bmah which has been in the game since MoP. Most of the people that got t3 did so by transfering to a dead server and just sit and farm it for months. So them adding it to the game didnt really devalue it. If they removed the gold sink to t3 i would agree. But u need to play the game and hope for rng to get a lamented item or just buy it for hundreds of thousands off the AH.
I guess to a certain extent Corrupted Ashbringer is different in the way that it wasnt ever on the bmah. But the fact that there is literally almost no one in the game still playing that has the corrupted ashbringer makes me think that adding it for a huge time/gold sink wouldnt be bad. T3 was on the bmah which was time/gold sink, so they had to make it the same way to not devalue it too much, because a lot of people had spent gold and time to get it alrdy, which people havent been able to do for corrupted ashbringer. Basically they had to please people that spent gold and time alrdy. The corrupted ashbringer is prestigious sure, but have u seen 1 ingame for years even, i havent. Ud atleast see t3 quite often, it was “rare” but u still saw it pretty often. Corrupted ashbringer isnt just rare it literally doesnt exist in any meaningful way besides maybe 1 person per server at max, which prob doesnt even play anymore.
I dont find it harmful adding it in a way that keeps it very rare for the large majority of players, but still making it a meaninful item, not one that just doesnt “exist”. Its basically dead code, because u never see it. The last time i saw someone have it was in Legion, thats 5+ years ago, and i play on Tarren-Mill a high pop server which has been popular for over a decade.
