In game you can then type /simc and copy that information. Then you go to raidbots and choose ‘Top Gear’ section
You paste the info in the box and this will populate all the information below. You can now compare different gear/talents/traits/essences/enchants/gems etc.
For arguments sake lets say you got some new bracers, you make sure to have selected those to compare, set the type of fight and duration as you prefer. And set it to go.
It will enter the data into a queue and once yours comes up it will work out and show you what is the best gear to have equipped and the difference between the things you have simmed.
You can also set your level of acceptable corruption.
No, but non-hardcore players don’t really care about whether they do a little more or a little less dps. If you want to min-max, you’re not a casual player.
You can also try both items and check the damage break down to see how much each individual item does. It won’t be as exact as simming, but it’ll give you a sufficient idea. You don’t have to sim.
IKR, much more fun that way, usually end up with different spec configurations for specific purposes and in general you learn your spec a lot better that way
I know how its supposed to work, i just never get it to work properly or i dont understand it. And since i’m resto i just dont bother. If i were dps and doing serious content i would probably take my time to learn it.
You can download the executable from the web site, simulationcraft and run it locally. You can also install the simcraft addon, to allow you to snapshot your character locally without the need to import from battle.net. Instant results, lots of options and no need to be online, queue or pay subscription. And if I am not mistaken the web site uses simulation craft anyway.
I have been using simcraft for years now. Recently I also wrote an application that will run all the Azerite Essences combinations and tell me what’s best (uses the simcraft engine). I get a sorted DPS list and then I choose a combination depending on my needs and playstyle. All run locally on my PC and very quick. For example Worldvein is the best major on my hunter but it has placing restrictions so I can select the next best combo from the list where Worldvein is not a major or minor even. Another example, other essences proc for X seconds after some conditions are met, but when you go from pack to pack you cannot control the procs, therefore you may want to swap with some other essence.
No, because in a month or two you will be able to wear both and in a month or two, what the best corruption effects are might be completely different from what is best today. Cleansing anything right now means you might be deleting 5, 10, 15% throughput you could have in a month.
You should wear all the best corruption you can right now and bank the rest until you have more resistance or tuning kicks in. Only cleanse stuff that would be an upgrade and has obviously useless corruption, like avoidance on intellect gear or something.
Avoidance isn’t useless. Avoidance reduces AoE damage, you seem to imply it’s a tanking stat.
As to the OPs question keep corruption below 40 as a safe threshold. See if you can manage more in reality and remember essences and an upgraded cloak will lower your total over time
