Crashing upon login?

You having this memory leak in dx12 by any chance ?

I’ve not noticed any memory leaks, but due to the number of people saying they’ve noticed them, rebooting was just as “Just In Case” precaution.

I’m still stuck in the repair loop. Removing Cache folder did not help

I’m doing a clean re-install and see how it goes. How did that happen out of the blue though?

I imagine that might take a while to do. But do report in if it works :stuck_out_tongue: Take one for the team

Yep. I’m able to launch the game (still downloading but playable) and enter with my main. Seems it fixes the issue!

But what happens when its finished downloading monkaS

Can confirm that reinstall lets you open the game. Downside is having to wait for install

Was also stuck in repair loop:

In the WoW/Data/ folder I deleted the whole “indices” folder.
In the WoW/Data/data folder I deleted “shmem”, all “*.idx” files as well the last two “data.xxx” files (for me: data.089 and data.090).

After that the Bnet App did a repair download of ~500MB and the game worked again.
Amusingly the data.0** files no longer exist in my now working WoW install, so they might also not for you.
If I were to try again I would delete the indices folder, the idx files as well as the last two data files.

For the past couple of weeks I wake up daily to a non-working client/game, either the client shuts down on its own not allowing me to even click anything, or the game opens but either it crashes giving me weird errors, or never finishes loading (the game loads in 5-10 sec for me usually). This also happened after leaving the game for just 2 hours, came back to a non-working client/game. I have to restart my PC constantly just to play this game. It’s becoming a hassle, so if anyone knows how to fix that I’d really appreciate it.

Is this still happening ?

stil having the same issue, did the ysera campaign quest for renown 19 of valdrakken accord, entered instance part of the questline got dced and now every time i login with my evoker the game just crashes.

It is still happening, i still cant login.

I deleted that Retail cache folder.
I deleted the Battle net cache folder.
I closed all processes of both wow and Bnet

Nothing works…

According to the US forums, and according to Wowhead, Blizzard pushed out a “silent hotfox” on their servers that caused this.

Sadly, according to players on the US realms, some people are finding that the only way to rectify this error, is to redownload WoW.

That said, I personally found that just rebooting windows and uninstalling my addons, and playing an unaffected character for 5 minutes, was sufficient to fix it.

Its so nice to see the EU Blue posters are all over this. /s
