I am getting the same bad trinket 4 weeks in a row! Also more mostly useless items not the slots I need.
I cannot even get more sockets or crafted gear, bad vault feels horrible, makes me want to stop playing.
Also I am stuck 5-6 ilvls below raiders who as such have a much easier time pushing keys. I refuse to grind raid just for gear…
This does not do anything for the biggest issue when doing M+ with pugs, which I have experienced enough times to make not want to do M+, like many other people.
There is no good enough reason to have the key lower after a depleted timer, you already waste nearly an hour forming the group and doing the dungeon and you get reduced rewards and reduced score. If I’m doing +8 keys because I want gilded crests, it’s because it’s the safest way to get them. The problem is that a leaver, a troll, a DC, will turn that key to a +7, which is effectively useless. Who wants to do a +7, just to upgrade the key back to where it was, for a non guaranteed chance for gilded crests? I feel like nobody over there at blizzard has actually pugged M+ with random people to know how unpredictable those groups can be.
It’s already punishing enough to deplete a key timer. Having the key ruined just makes me not want to do M+, because the alternative is to sit and be declined for 30 minutes, because people are looking only for meta specs and you cannot blame them, when depleting a key throws a wrench in your fun and satisfaction. It’s a videogame. If M+ sucks the fun out of it, I won’t do it. If a game sucks the fun out of your free time, you don’t play it. If instead of 40 minutes to form a group and run a dungeon, it ends up taking 2 hours, because you need to run it again to upgrade the key and then run it a third time, then that definitely fits in the fun sucking category.

God forbid you also change the reward structure to how it was back in DF, this “increased rate” doesnt even effect the people who were doing 8s to upgrade their hero gear, only those who are already completely capped.
The crafting crest resuction is a nice change, lets see if you keep these changes for s2.
Thank goodness! I think this actually makes crafted 636 gear slightly more crest-efficient than upgraded myth-track. And that’s great, because now crafting has real relevance again and is a sensible way to build character power.
Although, ngl, I still think you need to rollback so stops and stuns and knocks interrupt mob casting like they used to. That change is still horrible to play through.
Anyway, positive changes here, we are going in the right direction and I hope for further iterations with similar thinking to get us to a better place in S2

S2 will also have cap gilded/crests due the (1st week everyone will run with max=crafted ilvl gear )

While I approve of Blizzard’s action here, they really do go the lowest possible resolution don’t they? Shame really.
Nice. But this doesn’t address actual M+ issues. Keys just do not feel fun.
Devs keep having to learn this lesson due to employee turnover I guess, but stop giving players easy seasons (DF 3/4), only to over tune the sh!t out of them all over the place for a new expac. This season has been death by a thousand cuts. Coupled with a mediocre expac in general… This is why I’m letting my sub lapes.
Other seasons where easy, yes, but they were fun. Band aiding the crest system is to late to turn around a bland experience.
Next, remove Valorstones or whatever that currency is currently called.
And yes, add some gold as well to offset the consumable costs.
Valorstones are unlimted farmable, very useable on items in slots where you already had an item. Valorstones save crests. And to be honest, on every char i am flooded and capped with valorstones. But the main purpose of valorstones is not spending crests on the same gearslot.
Would be nice if valor stones could also have increased drops or at least he cap be increased. These changes are also a step in the right direction.
Sadly this had the opposite effect where people felt less inclined to stay after they deemed a key was no longer timeable. Hopefully a higher number of crests will entice more players to stay in runs.
And crests from Delves?
The droprate is horrible and to upgrade hero gear is just an incredibly slow and tedious process.
