Crest Cap Removed with Reset

HALLELUJAH

  • Change from 90x to 60x to craft any item 636
  • Change from +8 to +7 to farm gilded

All happy!

Call me when I can transfer the bazillion on my rogue over to my alts.

“Congratulations delvers, now you actually can farm those 1440 T8+ delves for enough Runed Crests to upgrade your ilvl from 619 to 626, sweet ain’t it?”

// Blizzard, probably…

somewhat 3 to 4 weeks too late imo

on my fun alts, i am not even close to get to the crest cap

Meanwhile I am capped at 2000 valorstones and, without exaggeration, at least another 2000 have vanished because of the hard cap. I literally haven’t even picked up the quests from the quartermasters that reward Valorstones, I’m waiting for them to add an option to exchange Valorstones to Reputation like in Dragonflight.

in theory ? those who stopped progressing . but then those who did stop have weeks of cap to farm and they dont farm it.

its pointless gesture pretending they care about m+ population when m+ is in such devastated state.

Always hilarious, same thing every season… thie first weeks “Caps are bad, waaah, I want to upgrade faster, remove them!!”

And when they fall after half the season like they always do “Waah, this doesn´t help ME, Pointless change, waah, waah, waaaaaaah!!!”

Maybe, just maybe, it’s not always about “you” in life?

To be fair; with a cap we now would have something like a 1250 cap.
The removal suits nobody anymore. It is a symbolic action.

You understand that this change with Crest cap Removed is nothing ? The caps for this week was already at 1200 gilded so basically you can craft ~upgrade anything ?

Uhm yeah, players always have opinions. Especially different players are different points in the season…weird comment.

In this case it’s about nobody. The capped ones most likely don’t benefit from it anymore. And the ones who slacked off halfway in aren’t capped for awhile still.

So who is it about?

Nobody, except all teh the people that run their preferred content weekly and have been unable to trade up thousands of crests because the crests in an intermediate level were perpetually capped

I´m loathe to repeat myself just because people require a personal answer to pre-answered questions, but as aready stated, literally everybody such as myself that for ex. reclears the heroic raid every week and winds out capped at their 90 crests every week and hoarding carveds as a result, and therefore has enough carved banked to trade up through runed for enough gildeds for multiple 636 crafts and /or 5-6/6 Hero track upgrades…

Bottom line: Just because it doesn´t help “you” or your circle of friends doesn´t mean it helps “nobody”. Just like wheelchair access ramps don´t help “nobody” simply because I can walk. People need to stop using themselves and their own personal situation as a universal measuring stick for other’s wants and needs :beers:

And then I scroll up to a screenshot where there are 315 Gilded ĂĄnd thousands of the others.

The point isn’t that nobody can now get use out of it, but who really does benefit from it at this stage in the season? That remains unanswered even though what you stated is now possible.

To answer that you need to collect all the chars who basically have a limited amount of Gilded, and thousands of the others. As soon as there are also hundreds of Gilded present the value of this changes plummets dramatically. I doubt those are that plentiful, honestly.

And this applies universally to all players, because everyone runs M+8s and mythic raid? RaiderIO numbers do not support that hypothesis…

That´s the whole point, taking a situation that does not apply to everyone, by any stretch of the imagination, and using it as a reason to say that nobody benefits from it.

With like 1200 capped crests we were able to craft 1200/90 = 13+ items already. People have tops 16 slots. This is considering people didnt get any myth track item yet, which costs 75 (5x15) crests.

It does look like we already had almost enough for upgrading our full gearset. But i might be wrong?

Edit;
i see your mention about people running below +8’s, so only able to get runed crests.
That means people need to convert 90 into 15 gilded. That means 6 times more dungeons, where 1200 crests = 100 timed runs, which means… 600 timed runs when doing it with runed.

I might consider that a bit unrealistic. But people do what they do.

if there was a cap still, those who stopped progressing still would have a a big amount of crests to farm to cap. And there is only so many crests you actually need for upgrades. And the amount with this week would have been enough to cap every item. So it doesnt help anybody

Let’s not talk about Delves…
2 runed per clear =45 runs for 15 gilded crests or 9 hours average time spend … If you want 90 gilded you may want to run 270 t8 delves to make an item …

This is totaly rofl<3

I would like to see someone trading in runed to gilded and get decked out

Talking about a stretch of the imagination.

Under 8s you don’t get Gilded, right. At best 12 Runed? So then you need 8 dungeons, timed, to get 15 Gilded. So 48 timed runs for one crafted item. We know that the average success-rate of M+ is around 80%, so it actually requires more runs.

Yeah, no, this change isn’t for them either mate - regardless of what they have collected in the past.

Just to clarify, I´m not saying it´s a massive benefit to anyone that plays regularly and upghas upgraded their gear to above 619 already.

But very specifically the heroic->mythic lev upgrades and 636 crafts do benefit from this, becausee the runed and gilded caps were 180 crests lower than caps for carved and weathered. And for people likee myself that have been for ex raiding heroic on multiple chars weekly since the beginning of the season but couldn´t care less about M+, this has presented a soft wall for roughly 4 weeks now, with 15 gilded tradeable and 30 farmable /week, plus a small handful from delves perhaps.

And the caps punished them for running further content by then downgrading anything past those 90 to useless carveds and eventually weathereds, This too is now a thing of the past. Now there is actually a point to doing more than just raidlogging and crafting for players that can´t/ don´t wish to engage with M+ or M raid.

It´s not a life altering change for anyone… but to say it benefits “nobody” as many have done simply because some people are sitting on gildeds they can´t spend is IMO dissociated from the reality that the majority of players actually live in. Because the majority are not farming gildeds with any regularity, (and for that matter oftentimes not even runed), and this does benefit at least some of them to a not insignificant degree :beers:

Or they now simply just trade up the literally thousands of carved crests the crest cap-downgrade system forced them to bank over the past 8-9-10+ weeks 1000/6/6= 27.7777… together with 2 crests from a delve map, thats still 2 upgrades /half a 636craft right there, that would simply not be possible fir that player if he caps were still in place.

The point of changes like this is almost never to benefit the decicated regulars like ourselves that accomplished our season goioals a month ago, but rather to benefit the overwhelming majority that do not play at our level, much less above it, by allowing them to progress /gear faster, so that a casual potato guild still has a resonable chance of actually clearing at least the heroic raid before the next seaason starts by giving them an easier path to more player power.

Same with Circe’s Circlet next patch, while many are complaining about how its a waste of time blahblah, it was never meant to be something that they “need” to chase in the first place, but as a power boost for more casual players that are still having issues with their desired content. It´s only our brain-amputated addiction to purple pixels and minmaxing beyond the point of usefulness that will make many of us chase it for the slight power gain. In my case, I only want the mog
