Danuser explains why he left Blizzard

WoW is Blizzard’s #1 moneymaker. It would have marched on with or without him. That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact. Thus, this entire point is automatically voided. The fact that the game somehow survived his writing doesn’t say all that much.

Lots and lots of people would keep playing WoW no matter what happened in the story without even caring for the quality, mainly due to them having invested so much time and money into the game. I mean… it’s WoW. It’s not some random knockoff title.
The playerbase can diminish. Yes, many players will leave. But there will still be many who keep going for… whatever reasons they find appropriate.

Personally I believe that the quality of the game’s story and aesthetic should be a priority, but I know that I may not represent the majority.
