Dark Rangers in Stormwind City - RP

Agents of Chaos, sowing seeds of herecy among the youth of the rp community with their bizarre headcanon

Omg please don’t, we were talking about this the other day.

Yes, but people forget that is a game mechanic, we have seen in lore that they can not and even in earlier quests (and some later quests, there was one with a female Kaldorei druid, where she had to pop out of cat form to talk to you, I think Legion. I think) it was noted it wasn’t a thing. Once you change, you become that animal, even down to their instincts, hence why becoming feral is a real thing, so I mean, I have never seen a cat talk in a Human language, I was always assuming they didn’t have the vocal cords for it.

Lol I probably shouldnt have but yeah, memories came flooding back, Oh sweet summer child rocks back and forth and mumbles incoherently

Someway, somehow, I have a slight feeling I wouldn’t be too appreciative of her RP should I run into her chars at any time. But hey, on the bright side of things, at least she’s not roleplaying on Moon Guard amidst the magus senators of Dalaran and all that jazz.

Saw this afterwards, thanks for confirming my premonition.

No, that’s the sad, depressing truth of this setting. This game isn’t huge. There’s barely any expanded world writing and much of what we have end up being little more than references to popular culture.

We’ve also seen the Alliance leadership gladly throw everything away to launch an attack on the Horde’s warchief while in the middle of an intergalactic war with the Burning Legion. They aren’t all this uniform you hold them to. There are war mongers and plenty of people who absolutely hate the Horde and would rather cut one down than deal with them diplomatically.

The author who forgot worgen didn’t have tails roleplays a warlock in the Cathedral of Light? Shocking.

Tbh the idea of the writers being horrifically bad rp’ers, doesnt shock me lol, I often hear better story ideas from fellow rp’ers

Someone didn’t watch Sabrina in the 90s!

I am not denying that.

What I am saying is that:

(1) The behaviour of Alliance leadership does not suggest “shoot on sight” to be the standard policy.

(2) Soldiers in the capital have a lot of oversight.

And therefore, (3) it is to be assumed that killing someone on sight - anyone on sight - will not be without consequences for the guard in question.

The stockades exist for a reason.

The stockades is more for local criminals/bandits/gnolls n stuff, other than Saurfang? who ofc is a major major char at the time n not worth killing on sight but rather keeping prisoner, why else would any mercy be shown to some random DR or ex hordie who turns up to a hugely militarised capitol of a military coalition? this is what I dont get, the Alliance/Stormwind isnt some pacifist nation, again like earlier stated if this was on the flipside and it was Ogrimmar in question and ex-alliance champions of some recent bigbad, no one would argue against that the grunts at the gate of Ogrimmar would likely kill said person, SW is not a pacifist nation, the Alliance is not a group of pacifist peoples, and its surrounding territories are not neutral

It’s not the standard policy, but that doesn’t mean they won’t do it. It especially doesn’t mean individual characters wouldn’t do it.

And presumably these guards have been tasked with ensuring the protection of the people of Stormwind against the evils that exist beyond the walls of the city. Like the Horde.

Genn, Sky-Admiral Rogers and the 7th Legion and the Gilneas Brigade attacked the Horde led by Sylvanas in the middle of the Legion’s latest invasion and received only a slap on the wrist - barely even that. Why would a soldier taking action against the Horde’s presence in Stormwind, and thereby breaking the armistice, be punished any harsher?

It’s a prison.

Legit, Horde enters SW, guard kills Hordie, guard gets court marshalled? I dont think so lol, that is literally their job, its SW not Dalaran, it is not a location -presumed- Hordies can enter, that guard is more likely to get a fat bonus or a promotion than he is to get told off

Kinda awkward argument loitering around as a darkfallen and when questioned answering “my return was approved by dark ranger Velonara as a gift. To you!” when said dark ranger is a known war criminal to alliance forces…

People forget SW is a nation of killers/warriors/soldiers/knights/champions, veterans of numerous wars against the Horde, slayers of Orcs/Undead ect, people who recently was at war with these people, they arent the Argent Crusade or the Kirin Tor, there is no banner outside welcoming ex hordies to come join in, its the capitol of the Alliance, not of Azeroth

Remember Taurajo!

If the Alliance had murdered those crims, it’d have been safer.
Murder law breakers Alliance!

Not yet indeed, glory be to Turalyon, light bless us all.

Even enemies are treated with respect and decency. I highly doubt the guard will go apesh*t on a Horde if that Horde does not aggrevate the guard. The Horde can come for diplomatic reasons and the guard will call a superior and from there on it will be decided if the Horde is allowed to enter or has to leave.

Only in cases of agression will a guard attack and possibly kill a Horde.

I doubt the horde would send Dark Rangers as diplomats to SW after recent developments, dont you? would be incredibly stupid if they did, and I very much doubt if a -Dark Ranger- was killed near the gates of Stormwind that any guard would be getting into any real trouble for it, but to each their own, this is Horde vs Alliance we are talking about, not irl United Nations n such, if Horde did send some kinda diplomat/ambassador its not gunna be some lone Dark Ranger.
Edit: Lets hope this doesnt become the next thing, “Hey, I’m a Horde diplomat, you cant touch me, I have diplomatic immunity to be here”, end up with a million Horde dark ranger diplomats.
