I dont agree with you
Finally pvp comes into s place where skillz and experience is what will make you win and not the +20/30 ilvls

I am looking forward for DF pvp

i dont do Arenas or bgs i dont do M+ but i do world pvp and solo suffles and world quests :stuck_out_tongue:

Agree with you, with one exception. The drive is not rating, it’s having fun. We do pvp because that’s what we have fun doing, rating is a perk and a mechanic to ensure the competitors are relatively… competitive. If they are not, it becomes boring real fast.

I 100% agree with you. :slightly_smiling_face:

I mostly play unrated just because it’s more “chill”, and with the new gearing system it finally means we can play in a balanced way. :ok_hand: So I’m very excited for not having to spend extra time on upgrading conquest gear.

I mentioned “rating” to appeal to everyone in this thread hehe. Personally I only do rated to get TMOG items.

i see a lower level player with pvp on i alweys gank them

I thought so, and since I mostly do rated and not much unrated, I thought to chip in. I actually find rated to be more chill, because I more or less always am evenly matched, with someone on about the same level as me.

But long story short: new system - seems alright! Just do what you do, rated, unrated, casual, hardcore, whatever. And have fun.. That’s what WoW is about, really.

Pretty sure I’ve seen a thread with “[Insert Expac / Patch] will kill PVP” as a title for every Patch going back to WoD.

i guess most wow pvpers are just awful then since they all seem to need a ilvl advantage

And all those games you mentioned have dead pvp. The most popular pvp game in the world, League of Legends, has gear rewards.

neah its better this way. i did play wod. and loved it… all u have to do is cap ure conquest every week… at about 6-7 weeks u are full geard for the rest of the season. u can also ubgrade items… but for the pve item lvl… not the pvp one… its better like this

Did you just compare LoL to an MMORPG? Like for real? :man_facepalming:

did you ever play everquest2 pvp ?

gw2 pvp isnt dead.

last i played it there was still multiple active raid parties formed and gank squads…

with a very healthy player base all through the day … in the pvp zone.

with scale battle on par with AV wow… in multiple areas at the same time.

so yeah… gw2 pvp is far from dead and is probably even healthier than wows.

Sounds cool to me. I also do enjoy pvp, it’s always what I like best in this game. Unrated and rated.

Pvp isn’t dead, because “blizzard forced pve on people.” Pvp is dead, because wow arena as a game mode is trash, and it doesn’t matter how much the coping dinosaur devs try to fill it with rewards to revive their dead wow esport attempt.
Wow pvp is filled with tons of time-soaking barriers to entry, boosters, and also: Why would someone invest tons of hours to get good at a pvp game without integrity, where people are encouraged to buy rating, unless they wanna play wow for a living and sell boosts?
The pvp community is dead, because pvp is just a market with really stupid time wasting barriers, and you know what: It’s the bad of blizzard devs, who can’t see it, and they seem to think, that the only problem with pvp is that people don’t play it apparently, and that’s why they just put more rewards into it, or try to reduce gear difference, and balance classes, but the reality is, that wow pvp has fundamental problems nowadays, that will never make it a good game mode.

If blizzard wants to make pvp fun again, they need to completely change their approach, and turn away from instanced esports arena. Pvp in every mmo is all about the community, not the gameplay alone. For gameplay alone, it will never succeed. They need to reintroduce pvp servers, eliminate sharding, and introduce epic battles/wars, or duelling areas, where people see eachother, and compete for things. Rating is viewed as good, because it removes the ego from bad players, and it shuts them down, but you know what: Players being known for skill without a number attached to it, and then losing a duel in front of others to someone considered bad (without any rating) is way more fun/interesting, and community driven. This whole esports rating approach should not be in any mmo, because it ruins the social fun part of pvp where your rating is determined by hearsay

PvP is dead because the class design sucks. So long as an enemy player isn’t fun to fight or feels unfair the PvP will be no fun.

I am absolutely bored to tears of this 1-shot meta. It’s just plain not fun whatsoever and I’m just about up to here with stunlock+1-shot-macros with immunity cooldowns to prevent the death and orcs being almost 50% of the players because their racial so clearly counters this style of play. It’s stupid, it’s boring, it’s uninspired. WotLK has much better PvP but unfortunately Naxx is so easy and PvP so hard that only the most die-hard hardcore play it which means it gets even harder.

In summary WoW PvP is in a really dire state. I was a PvP’er in WoW for well over a decade but I really am just fed up with it and that is not going to change until Blizzard starts listening to PvP’ers on class design. It’s gotten to the point now where even Skill Capped is complaining and they are generally genuinely very constructive and positive if at all possible.

That’s coping. Pvp is dead regardless of their balance. Arena is just not fun to play, period. Pvp can be fixed, if they change the pvp content from arena to something else, and bring back the community aspect

That’s what I said. I didn’t say class balance sucks, I said class design sucks. Arena is not fun to play because the classes are not fun to fight and because class design is front-and-center in arena more than anywhere else.

No. They can do any class design, and it’s still boring. Arena is a trash game mode, and it has 0 community. It feels empty/meaningless
