ooooh, my mistake!
What is the foil for then? I couldnt find it in my inventory anywhere and it didnt seem to have any effect on anything.

Foils are used for upgrading - once you’ve got any of the toys, the machine will have a quest to do the upgrade. It adds extra poses to the toy (interact with it once placed)

Try coming right out of game (maybe restart battle net app too for extra) then when you log in, right click the box - it should give you a target, rather than opening like a container. Place it down and you’ll get the item to learn the toy in your bags.
It’s… far from intuitive.

I’ve collected them all now but can’t upgrade all, I think I inadvertently applied some foils using the wrong option. Meh.

I didn’t realise that the basic upgrade option was different from the newer look one. It’s also unusual that the basic option didn’t actually vanish after you’d already used it.

How? I see there is 7 location, each one contain 1 coin and 2 foils. Which results in 7 toys and 2 upgrades to each of them.

Because I chose ‘Gain New Look: Maiev’ thinking it would give me her second look and it didn’t. Then I realised there was ‘Gain Even Newer Look: Maiev’ and it did give the second look.

But by that time I’d already spent on the lower upgrade twice for Maiev, same for one of the others. That left me short two foils at the end.

It would have been better if the lesser upgrade quest vanished from the list once you’d already done it. Or at the very least didn’t spend my foil currency in the process.

Ah, got it. Thanks for warning. I guess it’s a bug, there should not be a quest for the same look twice.

Yeah, whoever made this didn’t think it through. Got my stuff messed up… hope they fix it.

There is another bug atm as well people are having.

I’m going to try an alt, see if they can pick up a foil somewhere.

blizz is probably working on it, everyone who reports this gets the same answer when creating a ticket.

I feel stupid now, I looked at a quest before turning it in like “didn’t I already upgrade this once?” and yet clicked it and now there’s no way to revert that, doesn’t work logging into alts either…
