As I said - I mainly pvp. So all the tryhard stuff isn’t relevant- thank God.
I find it incredibly hard to play. I was looking at some logs and it seemed to me I should be doing around 40k dps to be a median player at my ilvl in raid. Instead I do 30k dps at a training dummy. It’s just weird.
No. I find it annoying to play. Cata had the best iteration by far. And mana still mattered.
Ashada is actually almost doing it right, just not overthinking it. If during bust you empty your fire blasts and then hit them as they come, your buff is ramped up and uptime is good. Throw in a single phoenix during ramp, and you’re golden.
Pyroclasm and SKB long cast time and timed proc uptime makes fire challenging, not because its hard to commit to muscle memory, but because it is clunky and often puts you in a bad spot, having to choose to either tank mechanics or lose out on dps… that’s a big concern and ties into the second culprit that you only do good dps in extended (!) AoE situations if you plan your CDs just right.
That is what makes Fire hard to perform with.
Yah, but I don’t know what’s up with fire mage. The raidbots sim says I should be doing 55k dps over 5 mins on a target dummy, instead, I do around 30k dps. Hardly any variance on that either, maybe I do 29k, maybe I do 32k. So what’s up with that? Is it me?
Try ice floes, its a game changer.
Did you sim patchwork or dummy? Did you double BL? There are so many class buffs, potions, phials, runes etc in a patchwork sim, you might be closer than you think. Also check the sim, sometimes a 5m sim will be 5m 20secs and sneak in an extra combustion
Yah, sure I do the dungeon dummy sim of course. And I try all combinations. The double bl pushes me up momentarily but I still end with 30k dps over 5 mins.
Have a look at the sim and compare your rotation maybe. Check your buffs. Maybe its a pvp dummy and theres some weird scaling?
Nah, of course, I take the dungeon dummy to practice upon.
