Do you think PvP servers are fair?

Fun fact

In 2004 alpha there was only PvP server type. Someone at blizz thought that during testing/development that they needed a pve server so that players wouldn’t get frustrated at dying so much.

Yet WoWs story is built on pvp if the ground works pvp how can pvp be a addition, if wpvp is fun is purely down to opinon.

And always kill each other too :joy:

it should be cool if Blizz do a “Conan Exiles” version of WoW :+1:

No but you do kill to earn reputation to earn epics.

Yes Battlegrounds, later on Arena

Yes, you can set up a raid in any enviroment

from a playable standpoint, from roleplay standpoint its different

not trolling, your the one taking on a moment to try jab at game modes un-nessercarily

WoW Classic was designed as a Sandbox MMORPG, your just clouded by the deeprooted requirment to put everything in a tidy box, and play games on the hand rails, CLassic WoW was designed to be both a PvP and PvE Game.

Just because ur bad at it, and decided you want no part in it doesnt invalidate that. and to try attempt to say 2 game modes which both were intoduced AT THE SAME TIME, is ridiculous.

PvP and PvE both came together, neither were “added onto the game”

BGs ofcourse didnt exist from the start, however PvP realms, did.

lol. this sums you up

“games have to follow strict rules to be considered offical”.

PvE and PvP demand different types of content and progression, that doesnt make it less of a Game mode, it just means the Targetted audiences want different things and WoW was built for those to co-exist.

PvE and PvP are different game modes, Different challanges and completely different in regards to the audiences they bring. So ofcourse the Design of the 2 types of content are Different.

Core GW2 was directly launched as a PVP Audienced game, Tera was launched directly to be a PvP game, Yet both held the same differences within both pve and pvp, with the fact DUngeons / Levelling and more were for the majority earnt through PvE content.

again Wrong.

Faciliating both PvE and PvP simply brings a larger audience any smart development team will aim on this, mmorpgs start to fail when they solely focus on one game mode, because mmorpgs arent built to appeal to a specific Audience.

Enforcing pvp ofcourse aint a great method to go, and Sure some games that drove it hard did, but lets not forget, Wildstar also flopped for driving it too far into Hardcore PvE content.

The idea is to mount a defence when you see 40 orcs outside your yelling that your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries.

I waited 20 years to corpse camp same guy in STV. Of course it is fun.
You die in the end but dying 20 people who comes from all over place with hatred is honorable death for ganker.
I will try to give best classic experience to retail dudes

imagine if they release ultima online in 2024, forums could be full of posts like OMG i LOST all ITEMS I farmed for 10 days, i want refund !!.. soft bois.

I feel like pvp is fine but certain things could be improved, like barrens which is a huge zone which has enough quests to be similar as westfall+redridge to us but horde are neutral there for a huge time, and a lot of alliance have to go through which makes it hellish.
today on the lone wolf server the ratchet FP was camped by 2 rogues and a druid for hours, when I was there in the afternoon they were there and just earlier they were still there. At that point it´s literally just griefing as it´s gameplay disruption (which hey TOS is bannable!) For stuff like that they just need to add a guard to the flight point and a “neutral” city is a bit more neutral instead of horde except for the edges of the city.

Since you feel that way, moving to a PvE realm will feel so freeing. Try it!

I didnt say it was?

I stated it was built with both in mind and the content differs for both because the game modes are nothing alike

Pvp doesnt need identical content to pve to be considered a proper game mode. In no game, no matter how pvp orintated it is, ever does pvp aljke pve lol.

You keep trying to use pve content direction to justify your point and it means nothing. You cant hold pvp to a pve idealism.

LoL is built purely on pvp, do you see them raiding? Lol. No. Because pvp games are different. Just like the game mode is.

Pvpers dont raid. Because pvp dont need raiding lol,

Because pvp naturally exists in the game, while pve requires a continous addition of content to be bolted on…

And that aint saying wows more pvp based, or pve is lesser. Thats just the establishment the game modes demand very different things.

PvP realm check list.

  • Strong and fast internet connection.
  • PC with good specs.
  • All the useful add-ons
  • Gaming mouse
  • Knowledge about all classes
  • Playing a class that has strong PvP abilities.

This check list are guidelines and not rules.

If you don’t meet them criteria, the probability of having a bad time is probably high.

Im obviously referring to the standardised raiding of a Raid. Not Player created content which a PvP raid is.

tbh i dont even get the point of the argument When the growing larger and larger majority seem to Buy their way through PvE content rapidly via GKDP… lol, Litterally. PvE has become a Festival of throwing RMT’d Money at everything to get through it faster… not even PvEr seem to like the content…

the Most efficent way to PvE in WoW SoD?

Make a mage, Sell boosts to RMTers, Make gold, join a GKDP and buy ur gear directly, Then farm the content for the Loot pool at the end every run on a 3 day cycle. like the entire PvE journey is basically ruined. because PvErs cant stand their own content…

Sure both sides have boosters, but PvEs reached a point where People who are doing the content properly are now even paying to skip it lol

WoW open world pvp was never fun or fair. There were a few times I think it was cool, like silithus fiesta during AQ opening event, but even that was shadowed by guilds forming coalitions and cross-faction collusion.

I played many MMOs, in some of them like Ultima Online or Albion Online, world pvp was a lot more fun than WoW. PvP was never a strong side of WoW, ever, it’s mostly a pve oriented game.

And I thought to myself why this was the case: it’s because its mostly about numbers than skill/investment. Also, it is mostly about finding cheese methods to win, instead of mechanical skill.

Also, my experience from all MMOs I have played gives me an answer to why this is the case: Because you can never 1v10 in wow, no matter how good you are, because there is too many CCs in the game, mostly stuns. So you can not just be very smart, do the right thing and even have insanely better geared to pull off crazy pvp encounters, it’s never happening. As soon as more than a few people attack you in WoW, you will sit in a perma CC chain until you die.

This will never change though, I just wrote you the text above to share my opinion. This is how the game has been created in the first place. If you want actual fun world pvp, there are games that focus more into them. You can try Albion online or New World maybe, if you like them. Or just in case you want fair pvp in wow, arenas are actually a better place, I heard solo shuffle can be fun on retail wow these days (if you can get into an arena ofc with the 1h ques)

PvP won’t happen always on the terms you want.
Deal with it or go to PvE.

My mate got the full ranger kit only to die and lose it the day after, everything he’d earned went into buying that suit ! Yours, GM Bard.

All the old warcraft games were pvp, it’s in the title to remove any ambiguity. None stop war in fact, all you did was kill the opposing faction. PVE was added in wow.
