Don't make the troll heritage about the Darkspear

I am rather hoping it has something to do with Vol’jin becoming a loa or we become a shadow hunter.

The rest of the tribes are blatantly (Or rather, cartoonishly) uncivilized and get massacred for it, so which one is the bigger fool?

Are you srsly saying the first race that ever buildy a city on Azeroth savages? My dude this is like a typical high elf answer lol.

Nobody cares about that guy. How people haven’t forgotten about him is beyond me.

his death was insulting considering Varian went out kicking so much booty.

His reign was insulting considering he didn’t do anything. He was a crappy character and I think people like him cause he sounded like he had grass on him.

I am sorry to break u the news bud .the troll are horde race so of course there will be a tribe of troll who will be recognized for heritage armor

Deleted. nevermind…

Seriously, look at the non-playable trolls in-game, they may have been the first to build a city, but somewhere along the way, they became typical savage kill-bait, you may not like that it happened to them, but i doubt even you can deny that it did.

I want them all and the Darkspear gatekeep the cool parts of their original society.

That applies to everything if you think about it. Everything that is attackable is kill bait. Starting from boars up to dragons. But most trolls did build pretty impressive stuff if you think about it. I don’t remember all names, but let’s try, so there’s that city in the desert built by the trolls, a vanilla dungon that broke people’s hearts. We have the Stranglethorn stuff, the Armando trolls or whatever, the one next to the belf city. The Zandalari obviously, then there’s the stuff in Northrend. These guys rival the nelfs.
But I agree, these days they are pathetic, especially the Crapspear, Blizzard started them out great, with them being ruthless and savage hunters who ate their enemies, to whatever this is supposed to be, which is hard to tell, they are voodoo people, but not really cause voodoo gets pretty hardcore and WoW does not, so what then? They smoke pot? They have Jamaican accents? What’s the deal with them these days?

Ofc the troll heritage should be for the Darkspear trolls it’s what they are

Darkspear trolls are the playable troll race, any later added skin tones that differ from Darkspear tribe are just bonus but doesnt make them stop being Darkspear trolls before some race specifically for such is published like the dark iron dwarfs for example. Heritage armor is for the Darkspear hence

The problem is that everything even remotely impressive that any trolls ever did is in the distant past (As i said: It’s a trope Blizz really seems to love), that’s even the whole story about the Zandalari trolls, that their little empire (It’s pretty little by now) is falling apart at the seams.

As for the other tribes: the Farraki are holed up in ruins, as are the Amani and the Gurubashi, the Drakkari killed their own gods for power, the blood trolls went full cannibal, one unifying theme: They were all evil, pathetic shadows of their former selves, and in WoW, the bad guys get killed, no two ways about that.

How do you make heritage armour based on half-naked savages, anyway? The Darkspear have an armour style (Tribal with bones worked into it, which has always been the go-to “Troll style”, really), the Zandalari have a more elaborate, Aztec-esque armour style (My main is using parts of it for transmog), but the other tribes never had their own style to draw from, just reused Darkspear-stuff and loincloths.

Yes but there is nothing special on them outside being the “nice” trolls.

That hardly makes any difference it’s THEIR heritage armour.

Everything impressive that most races ever did is a thing of the past. Nelfs obviously, even humans, with their super powerful kingdoms and so on. Still, trolls leave their mark in WoW and leave it well.

I really wish the WoW writers would assign a moral compass to individual culture other than their own personal standards. Imagine how good some stories could have been.

And like I said, I’d rather have them focus on a specific tribe than toss some generic recolors and keep the theme so vague you can’t really assign it to any tribe. Odds are we’ll get more troll outfits in the future, so why screw this one up?

Oh god yes, imagine the Darkspear leaning into the savagry they supposdly have and being the Hordes shock troops as a result. The mysterious scary side of the Horde using dark voodoo and terrifying ritual few outsiders want to involve themselves with, but internally are beyond reliable.

I agree with this, all races with even a semblance of edge have had it sanded off, it started with the Night elves, to have them fit into the “Lawful stupid”-mold that is the Alliance (Because ever since Vanilla, there are no races, it’s just Alliance and Horde), and now it’s the Horde’s turn (First the trolls, now the Forsaken)

On one hand i can understand it (All players are supposed to be heroes, and rampaging, plague-mongering conquerors don’t really fit that description), but instead of letting the Alliance lash out for a change to give them some edge of their own, they removed any distinction the races used to have, making it all just… bland mush, inoffensive to the point of hollowness.

Metzen is an alliance fan at heart I doubt he can portray any of the Horde races well in Midnight. We all know it will be a Alleria only show.
