Alright, good to know.
Bit confusing if I’m honest…
But the option is possible and accounted for.
There’s hope they can buff it further, this was the demo, we aren’t even talking of PTR yet.
They look fine to me!
Got bulk for days already
Yeah welcome to the forums, no matter what Blizzard does, they’ll always cry and moan like little babies!
Had to steal this one from Reddit:
“Hey Blizz, can we have Naga?”
No
“Hey Blizz, can we have Sethrak?”
No
“Well, at least Saurok then?”
No. You can have Drac’thyr.
“… do you mean Draconid?”
No
But those games offer “4-leg” actions as a Werewolf.

Aside of that anger, mind telling us why you hate Furries?
Because they are different from you ingame? Because they don’t fit your world views? Sounds like a racism problem.
I think they could look OK once we have seen all of the customization options. Plus, there is plenty of time for them to make changes before the expansion releases so we may see some more visual improvements to them between now and then.
To be fair, female Worgen (slow) Walk Animation is also way too cartooney and silly for a “cursed Wolf-Woman”.
… Jesus Christ…
“You don’t like a group of persons… Racist!”
Because furrys are a race… Yeah…
How would your like your “REEEEE” sir, feminin high or a Karen screech
Am I the only one that finds the word “fursona” extremely cringe? And yes, those models look like that.
Let’s hope they are not final (blood elves and worgen were pretty different at first but they got changed later in the development).
Racism does not exclusively apply to “pyhsical” races anymore.
Racism is the belief that groups of humans possess different behavioral traits corresponding to inherited attributes and can be divided based on the superiority of one race over another. It may also mean prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against other people because they are of a different race or ethnicity. Modern variants of racism are often based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. These views can take the form of social actions, practices or beliefs, or political systems in which different races are ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities. ~ Racism, Wikipedia
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racism
People that do identify as a “Furry” are following their own practices and beliefs. If you dislike them and keep it to yourself, it is ok, since that is having an opinion. But when you publicly hate on them, then it is kind-of racism toward their practices and beliefs.
Oh my god…
I think Elon musk is definitely correct the last days…
Elon Musk has nothing to do with this conversation or this topic.
Aside of that, Furry races are already ingame since years, even existed before WoW was a thing.
- Tauren - they walk on 2 legs, speak and behave similar to IRL humans
- Worgen - they walk (most of the time) on 2 legs, speak and behave similar to IRL humans
- Pandaren - they walk on 2 legs, speak and behave similar to IRL humans
- Dragons - they can take humanoid forms, walk on 2 legs in said forms, speak and behave similar to IRL humans
- Gnolls - they walk on 2 legs, speak (low common) and behave similar to (savage) IRL humans (of earlier ages)
- Harpies - they can speak (if they wish to) and show similar intelligence to IRL humans
- Quilboar - they walk on 2 legs, speak and behave similar to (savage) IRL humans (of earlier ages).
- Arakkoa - Bird People, can fly AND walk, speak and behave similar to IRL humans.
- Grummles - they walk on 2 legs, speak and behave similar to IRL humans.
I could go on with this list but I don’t want to wast too much time here. Let us instead look at the definition of Furries:
Furries are fans of anthropomorphic animals . These are animals with human characteristics, like Mickey Mouse, Sonic the Hedgehog, and many mascots for sports teams. Furries are part of the greater furry fandom. Besides referring to fans of anthropomorphic characters, furries are also the anthro characters themselves. ~ First official result via google search “furries definition english”
Furries are since hundreds of years part of human creation and ideology. Our damn ancestors identified with aspects of wolves and bears in their tribes.
Movies like “Bambi” and child stories like “The three Little Pigs” are basically Furry-Stories. People had never a problem with it back then, but suddenly in the last 10 years people become offended by it? Imo that’s more weird than the people actually wearing furr-suits.
Doubtful considering they’ve shown the product off publicly and even put info out there for the masses to see, honestly Blizz are quite stubborn when it comes to community feedback, while I don’t hate the current itiration of Drakthyr I would have much preferred to play as a smaller version of the aspects as size is an unjustifiable argument because the player races have always been smaller than the NPC’s.
We are minotaurs not furry gibberish.
Even a Minotaur is a Furry by those “human characteristic” standards.
I wear a leather belt. How much thought do I give to the leather-wearing specialist community when I put it on? Zero, obviously. Likewise, I couldn’t give a Dragonflight duck about Furries or Scalies and whether or not furry and scalie fandom applies / does not apply to WoW. In fact, I find it very odd that so many people on this forum do seem to care, in the same way I find it odd that certain religious people care very much about what gay people get up to in their spare time.
Anyways, the Drac’thyr look fine to me. Not amazing, not terrible. But tbh I have no strong feelings at all towards dragon-humanoid hybrids, as the idea doesn’t appeal in the same way rping an alien or a werewolf-derived race does. I doubt very much that I’ll bother with one until I’ve tried out other classes / races in my quest for alt completionism.
My general feeling about the dragon theme? This is four years too late and should have been done at the end of Legion. Dragons are old hat and the idea is now stale.
