Top 5% i doubt ur statistics.
More like after they abused their staff and customers for 6 years, (legion BFA and SL).
Legion bfa and sl, blizzard basically fed on its customers unhealthy addiction, well SL was players wake up call to their addiction and they bolted.
And u know. Once free stay free.
Its like a drug u dont go to apl the hassle to fight the addiction and get through it. To buy it again because a new flavors released.
Well thats basically WoW. The past 3 expansions. It bled money out of addicts, til the addicts reached such a state they were forced to turn back.
Thats AP in a nutshell.
And because theyre unwilling to turn back, they wont by the product. Theyre not gonna log on a game that once consumed 30+ hours of their week in sheer chores to partake in at a basic level. Because they know if blizzard rehook them and pull the same rubbish their back to square 1
Blizzard lost respect for players time for 6 years and we wonder why players may resent their product.
Yes legion was a success. However it still began the cycle and blizzard just went to far too quickly.
Nothing. In a video game should be limitless, no game should demand that level of time comittment. Espically knowing its audience are a bunch of people grom the 90s now with kids.
Tbh for casuals the game is kind of lame. You just farm flightstones until 424 ilvl, and fill your vault from LFR for 437 crafted gear or do the rare champion / hero gear weeklies. Seems extremely boring tbh.
For me as someone engaging in end game, the actual systems with gear progression seem perfectly fine overall. Itâs really good for me. But for my type of player, even though the gearing is good, the balance was so trash and awful that a lot of people probably left for it. Iâm 445 ilvl with almost all 20ies done, and I sit in LFG for 30-60 min now to find a key, if I wanna do one as an A-tier spec. I think the balance kinda killed the game now, even though itâs a â5% problemâ according to the forum, even though most people I see on my server belong to the â5%ââŚ
5% according to the forum is probably just the amount of people they think, who can pilot their character while walking forward in a straight line lmao
Well yes it is.
Blizzard at DF launch did alright, the issue is they kept rare farming the main source of open world content now for a full year lol.
But this is usual blizzard reaction when things sink.
Blizzard basically saw Legions success, and ramped the anti to 110% into BFA. Over the course of BFA ampâd it uptoo 200%. But at this point was producing so many new systems and content to attach to it. The content quality just plummeted. Which then caused major complaints.
Blizzard cant just do legion. There cant be just something to chase with 1 AP grind to progress over a expansion.
They gotta add 4 systems to the AP grind, attach 3 lands 14 NpCS 17 quest runs 5 instances and 21 hours of 1 shotting stupid mobs for rep grinds.
The issue isnt AP being removed. The issue is blizzard replaced the AP grinds with absolutely nothing.
Even legions AP grinds werent that well recieved, players got excessively angry at the lack of control over legendaries and how Alt unfriendly and even Off specc unfriendly those systems were.
Legions content wasnt anything to do with AP. It was to do with the fact the game just dropped so much content into open world.
Every day u had WQs to farm reps
Continously had story progression.
AP was just tolerated in trade of this because of how good everything around it was
I think they should just increase the ilvl of open world gear with every .25 patch and make the content more fun for players, but tbh: Fyrrak assaults is really good content for a while.
I think open world progression just needs reworking having items in open world, demand raid content to max is really stupid. Its rly alt friendly and its really barebones.
Theres no reason, why by 10.7 theres still 0 open world content that awards uptoo 441, that is how WoW has always worked.
By mid patch. Catch up initated, and then by the next seasonal patch launch, everyones at nearing the last seasons end ilevel.
Not even people who m+ / raid are happy due to how annoying it is to now play a alt. Ive quit being a altaholic because of it ![]()
They took out the system that werent working, and didnt replace it with anything else, the expansion feels so safe it almost feels like blizzard just wanted the slate bare to build upon.
Blizzard weirdly need this reminder everytime, whej they delete something the objective is to add something new, if ur just deleting things with 0 replenishment u dont have a game lol.
When u go to a detentist and they pull ur rotten tooth out, they replace it.
this is basic industry realistically.
Mathematically a casual open world player was never going to get top gear in Legion by doing only world quests, low keys or normal / LFR.
It isn´t about the ilvl. It is about the progression, and the power progression of DF is awful, boring and sucks.
However the possibility existed so it was continously chased. And thats the difference.
DF offers 0 possibility so nobodys gonna chase it.
The problem happened when raiders and high end m+ players couldnt mathmatically get there either that problems erupted. Titanforge / warforge basically made content uncompletable which is both great and incredibly toxic simultaniously.
There needs to be a point of completion.
A easy fix for this would have prolly just limit the content level titanforge/warforging could effect.
I.e if only LFR Dungeon finder and world quests could do it, to say 437 as a limit. Itd prolly keep players in this content engaged with possibility of reward
Now sure the medium crowd may find themselves incentivized to chase this, but i think AP eras true issue was simply how many systems existed. And not because open world content had so much to do.
I mean lets look at BFA.
You had the necklace a continous grind.
Azerite Gear with randomised traits.
Unlocking flying in each section.
Then upgradable slots for additions to neck through infusions.
Nazajtar grinds with its open world gear being BiS at one point.
Mechagon again with another grind.
Allied race unlocks.
Then onto
Visions
Corruptions
Weekly earning keys for visions.
When u bolt this much to the progressive systems of the game. Its then the game demands 4 hours a day of chores.
But that sidnt mean just completely delete everything either
idk it doesnât really seem that dead to me, i still have absolutely no issues finding keys no matter if its 4 am or 6 pm.
The only official numbers are the financial reports.
I dont personally feel or see any drop. Iâm on a busy realm though and never struggle to find others to do content with. I see lots of people out and about.
Im not raiding or doing m+ atm. But that doesnât mean im not playing. Im loving the downtime from organised content to do other things in game.
One thing is sure. There will always be doomsayers. As long as ive been playing there have been people proclaiming the game is dying.
All of the above. Plus several other reasons.
I donât think itâs 1 specific thing.
Or perhaps itâs because Blizzard understands that the world is full of genocide and murder and 30 year old adults come to WoW to escape from the real world, not to see more of the same.
only reason why i still play is because im in a good guild with social interaction outside the game
Shadowlands was so abhorrently bad it made me delete my account, that account had most collectorâs editions and a vanilla collectorâs edition with box and all.
Also had the AH mount and all MT challenge weapons from Legion, there was about 1M gold left when i deleted it.
Sure WoW had itâs up and down moments but at least BFA was kind of doable with M+, but Shadowlands was the nail in the coffin for me then.
Now in Dragonflight, itâs okâish for me.
Lorewise the game feels bland and hollow, but i do enjoy running the M+'s with girlfriend and friend(s).
Also iâve noticed the world becoming emptier, and in my honest opinion that is because the current âownerâ of WoW doesnât care about itâs customers, it only cares about making money over the back of them.
The real Blizzard and World of Warcraft ended when WotLK was done and the Activision merger was anounced.
Over the years weâve seen them making record profits but laying off staff left and right, not to mention that they also had their fair share of scandals surrounding the workfloor and abuse of their personel.
You go to a Restaurant and eat some Meal in 2021
Later in the Night you are very ill with Food Poisoning Symptoms.
The Restaurant closes.
The Restaurant make New Menu, hires new people and get better controlled Food Supllies. The Reviews for the 2023 Meal are 10/10.
But you can only thinking about the Night on the Toilet with diarrhea and when you was puking all the Night
Sorry, but this is an insane argument. The series is literally called WARcraft. Not PEACEcraft.
Yeah I am going to go play a game called WARcraft so I get my safespace where I can avoid thinking about war and death.
Like, just find a different video game? I don´t go start watching Sex and The City, then complain about how Samantha has too much sex and how the entire series should stop being about sex because I am afraid of boobies. Because if anyone did that, they would rightly be considered an insane person.
Me too
And I regret a bit, because having no guild but doing Raid, dungeon and rated PvP content for pugs is almost impossible to achieve Curves, Gladiator and KSM.
My last gladiator was during 7.3 But I removed an account in 8.3 and I also skipped 2 PvP expansions in a row: BFA and shadowlands
I also had 5 Curves from all Legion raids in that old removed account

Here another reason why people quit: predatory fomo micro transactions with a gatcha store and virtual currency with a GATCHA store inside an expensive game. Itâs a virtual currency in a subbed game. They are completely lost. Maybe u should have kept it deleted. Honestly, maybe we should all just delete and move on with life from this trash
Hahahahahahah. Ah this is why I come to the WoW forums.
Great post.
Seriously astonishing how people can go along with these kind of things, but i guess that they are actually selling them?
As long as we got people that feel the need to buy these things to âshow them offâ this will be a running gag for a long time iâm afraid.
It makes me sad the current state of Blizzard, WoW is in a sad state, Diablo isnât doing any better and Starcraft / Warcraft have been treated as dirtpile products.
