A matter of perspective… 
As a focal point for a certain kind of character, it’s a launchpad for characters that might not quite fit into stormwind. I’m sure there’s a place for it in a post-dragonflight world.

Once hype around Gilneas dies, some will migrate back to Duskwood.
Because technically, all blizzard did - was to make a few quests, 1 cutscene and plant some random NPCs in Gilneas. Other than that, there’s been 0 changes and it’s the same place that it was for a decade now, they didn’t even put down a portal afaik.

Apparently it’s active again!
Its only funny the OP havent realised this has happend countless times before.
At the start,Activity goes up, a long period of active people, events and attacks going down all over Duskwood.
A burnout period where the activity goes down.
A migration occurs to other zones, wich in turn populate otherwise isolated amd unpopulated areas! For awhile atleast.
A longer period of silence follows in Duskwood. With mostly only the Twilight Grove remaining a small active comunity.
People slowly returns to the woods and the cycle starts again.
Trust me, ive been rp’ing in the woods for the past 7-8 years now and ive seen this cycle happend more than once xD

Because of the sharding a lot of folk seem to have moved to Duskwood for the time being.
It’s nearly 12AM server time and /who is capped out at showing 50 people. Thanks Hearthstone for returning Duskwood to life!
