Either remove H+/H++ or add RDF for regular HC

Some people have actual jobs, you know. It’s hard enough to schedule for raids as it is, most guilds do not schedule around dungeons as well. That’s why a system like RDF would help so much.

I think a lot of people would complain that they have to run old raids before they can raid new content. I mean, that’s how it’s supposed to work, so of course people will complain.

But they wouldn’t. I mean, back on 3.3.5 pservers, you could skip both Naxx and Ulduar outright if you did, before with RDF you could easily rack up a dozen or two EoT per day anyway, allowing you to easily get decked out into emblem gear. The only raids you’d run before ICC would be VoA and the occasional ToC (since stuff like weapons can’t be bought via emblems so the 232-245 weps from ToC are still good to prepare for ICC, even if most ppl still ended up buying Battered Hilt instead).

Yeah, but that’d be both changes combined (removal of +/++ AND addition of RDF), not an either/or situation like in the topic.

and I gave you my answer. Simple as that. WotLK was better before ANY of the changes Blizz introduced to it (not in the sense that I’m against each and every one of them, but in the sense that the WotLK without ANY of Blizz’s changes, as on pservers, was better than the one we currently have).

Since I unsubbed and realistically don’t know what the state of M++ or patch 3.4.2 is like. I’d still like to add to the conversation about RDF.

They should add RDF for leveling, no debuff. Why would you want to limit someone’s choice to dungeon spam? How does it harm anyone at this point to add RDF the way it was back in 2008 WotLK?
Don’t say sense of community… don’t say ‘muh open world feels’ cause that’s all myths anyways.

Yeah but RDF would give leveling players extra experience, a bag of goodies and gold!
Make the extra experience optional, I personally don’t see the harm in leveling a little faster. Some players only want to do the dungeon (and quests) and not outlevel a zone, since I don’t want to limit their fun. Make extra experience optional.
Get rid of the goodies and gold. Those only add extra gold to the game.

RDF for ‘endgame’ should look something like this.
Either
A: ‘The old way’: Add RDF as it was originally with tabs for M+ and M++ that are greyed out till a certain GS requirement is met. A Blizzard set bar for the content they created.

B: RDF just for normal heroics. Keep the LFG tool as with M+ in retail.

In both cases keep an emblem bonus at the end of the dungeon for “The daily dungeon” (The emblem that is on par with the current patch). After that reward players that play more dungeons and stick around to the end 2 emblems of a lower tier as reward.
Extra gear or gold rewards can be removed.
The extra emblems will make catching up on alts quicker and have certain items bought with emblems drop in prices.

TL;DR: Add RDF for alts. The sooner the better.

Do I understand it correctly after reading the whole topic, if I’m a totally new wotlk player and trying out a new pve role (tank) I have never played for like… I dunno 10+ years of my exp with WoW, it’s a total waste of time making and leveling character?

That depends.
If your idea of “trying out a new pve role (tank) I have never played” is jumping straight to relevant content after hitting 80, then yes, this is not a game for you unless you are loaded.

All you have to do is one single Naxx 10 which can be done even with green items :smile: and many boes are vay too cheap now. You can easly handle H++ when you are close to 4k.

New players are not screwed, you just don’t know what to do. Learn, you’ll be fine

as long 4 k gs and not green and naked it fine but green naked na wont take u show thet u lazy honest while i get it but if u want lot player like u make normaal hc group u self you are druid you sould ebel full tank or healer spot get healer or tank few nice dps then do world tour hc normaal you will get some start gear thet or do pvp deadly not thet awfull just ding fresh

ding 80 by which point you’ll of had 75k honor with any common sense buy pvp gear and crafted if you need it. even the 245 crafted isnt that bad. run HC ++. we’ve seen 3.8k gs alts run togc normal np whatsoever. 45 minutes and your getting 232 gear. and as said hc ++ are easier than the HC+ equivalent. especially if if can get on at prime times when those with 5k gs are doing the daily and will literally carry your backside through nuking anything in their path

I really wish people stopped using PvP gear to boost up their GS. Especially if they log in as DPS.

Or they can add a gear vendor that sells bis gear for EUR.
