For all of TBC, the Stranglethorn goblin organizer kept respawning randomly, you could just catch your 40 tastyfish and stand next to him waiting for the blue exclamation mark to appear above him. I got my pole and trinket before T5 came out without even trying.
Then I got all the rare fish in prepatch, and once wotlk came out, Salty was just a matter of visiting all pools and fishing in Dala for a couple of hours.
Haha for ONCE i happen to catch the darn shark within the 3 first minutes after the tournament began, i HS back quickly and run, i see no players there and get super excited, and then i also dont see the NPC…
