Elemental shaman - not viable for PvP

would be useless…

at this point ele needs instant heal and 10 DR on lightning shield

Most honest man right here.
You made my day i wont lie! hahahahah, elemental is HARD AF to play, especially in this meta with zero defs but your Brown underwear insert thoughts here , and you gotta See it in SShuffle… hahahah

Swapped to ele just cause i liked its toolkit (like you said above) , i was like this is some nice stuff man it has high skill cap… then entered in SShuffle, vs wars/rog/dh/dk/Sp/demo , it was NOT fun… def NOT fun…

It feels like “RUNNNNNN FORREST RUN” 24/7 while i have 2 seconds window MAYBE sometimes to fake and land a hex, and pop my zug… thats it… then its on the meat treadmill again… i really really wanna know a 3k rated ele and his opinion especially on Sshuffle.
I think it needs triple digit iq to be good at this class, or im superior bad at it… which its not far from truth, im trying to learn

I got globalled by an ele 160k earthshock then 2 instant lavabursts of 80k. Full pvp gear. Also he kept doing instant lavabursts foe 80k.

In geneeal I see there are a lot of ele in solo shuffle leaderboard at high rating and its one of the top specs now so “ele is not fit for pvp” is wrong. Devoker is not fit. Ele is good but skill ceiling is high in that meta. I also see that top players like Xarui (I cant remember nickname of that arcane mage… he is top1mage atm) say that ele is extremelly good.

Elemental is extremely good at destroying people WHEN they aren’t the focused target. Not often the case in solo shuffle.
The meta you’re talking about is ruled by melee classes, that elemental shaman struggles a lot against.
Elemental shaman defensive toolkit isn’t fit for PvP, since it’s pratically non existent imo.
You say that “ele is not fit for pvp” since 15 ppl share a CR > 2.5K, but 50 DH share a CR > 2.5K. Some classes are doing better than others, it doesn’t mean they are fit for PvP or not. It’s a bad idea to argue that a class is “good because someone got glad on it”.

People are talking about defensives here, not damage…Read the threaaaad

But they need to nerf dmg if you want defensives otherwise we get ranged dh.

Off topic again
Just go somewhere else
Why are you trying to open a debate so badly

you can’t talk about defensives only when we have such a good DMG profile. buffing deffs without doing anything to DMG will lift us from a tier to very high s Tier. ele is already better than a lot of specs atm. yes the melee train is frustrating, but that doesn’t make ele “unviable for pvp” lol. one of the few casters that doesn’t have to rely on casting to win games

If you read my original post, it says that it wouldnt be a bad thing to nerf the damage as long as we can survive more than a few seconds. Did you read it? or just the title?

This isn’t strictly true, bro. There are a few high rated elementals on the ladder.

Damage is strong if you keep flame shock up and make the most of primordial wave.

Also, your healer needs to know your limitations. It’s vital they know how to play with an elemental.

Work on your positioning and it’s hugely important to not waste your defensives as an elemental.

I was jut coming to these forums to make a similar post. After spending all day in Solo shuffle queues (like 20-60 minutes I get trained every single match and there is just nothing you can do at any point to win.

It’s utterly demoralising, makes you feel very unhappy playing when there feels like almost zero chance to counter or even play the game.

Elemental is the strongest Shaman Spec - once you learn how to play around the Zug, you can do extremely well. One of the better Casters atm

“elemental not viable in pvp”

meanwhile it is S tier and someone hit 3,1 solo with it

what I can tell from my experience is that once you start getting decent healers you slowly start to realize how strong ele actually is. it’s like a whole other game. you become so oppressive with your dmg it’s ridiculous

I understand what you are saying, however…

Decent healers are for those glad skilled players whom number in the small percentage vs the rest of us normal people.

In solo shuffle at normal person ranks the zug zug trains ele start to finish and you don’t get chance to rank up. Its a yoyo from 1300-1000 and back again and Im not alone there are a lot of people talking about the same problem.

Solo shuffle is designed to get normal players into casual arena pvp, probably because ‘we’ make up the vast majority of players.

Love the solo shuffle idea, I’m sick of the “you want to join myy 800 rated 3 v 3 show me your 3k+ experience???”

or the other classic “We lost one game you suck /leaves party”.

Solo shuffle has the possibility to bring and keep many more new players into Arena which is great for the game.

For normal people like me on Ele? Sucks balls, I literally unsubbed the other day after 2 weeks of being trained dead every game, and before the obvious troll of get gud Im average Im the majority player like most people in this thread.

But what happens when you don’t ? You getting carried by a healer doesn’t mean you are a viable spec.
Although ele burst damage is absolutely insane, it has no survivability against most melee comps.

Let’s not use the “someone got glad on it” as an argument. Want to compare ratings with demon hunters ? Some classes are more viable than others.
I’m pretty sure the main topic of this thread was defensives, not damage.

you cannot talk about defensives without talking about damage as well. give ele more defensives and it will be the new fotm go to spec (it almost already is)

yes some are more viable than others, and ele already is on the very upper end of that list. ele has become S tier, especially since dh nerfs.

Then nerf its damage ? I don’t know dude

Try and play an ele and go solo shuffle, as others have stated in this thread, we are not multi glads. I`m an average player, managed to reach 2k at times with other classes but with ele I cannot pass 1.2 and I actually went back to 700 because guess what, every single composition that I meet, is extremely happy to train me 100% of the times

There is not a single person that doesnt say "go ele" whenever one appears on arena. I wouldnt mind a damage nerf as long as I get to play it. Shamans in general needs a class re-work, their talents are old, outdated and do not match with todays WoW.
On paper and ele is amazing, inside the game…actually, go make one and see for yourself.
