Across the board I’ve mostly seen shock at the pricing.
There’s like 2 people in this very thread that were defending everything that has to do with these “editions”, like extremely vehemently lmao
I just want people to be aware that they can play for the sub price. No one has to buy any of the options.
There has been some confusion, maybe not so much in this thread but definitely elsewhere.
I do agree but the boost shouldnt be in classic at all in the first place
They’re cutting experience from 1 to 60 by 30% but don’t let them say that. I guess in this new day and age all they need is a swipe from your credit card.
yes and no.
The boost is more for people that did not play classic.
In these days the fear to be left behind and everything need to be speedrun is feeding this boost very hard.
You know that most people will rush to lvl 70 and start gearing to run the raid etc. as fast as possible. Once you are late to the party, it will be hard to join the party.
In retail it is the same, if you didn’t push your RIO in the first week or two, nobody will invite you anymore in week 3 and the requirements are high. You will than have much harder time to catch up.
Same psychology is used here to sell the boost. It is for people who are afraid to be late and want to rush to 70.
Anyways that a boost was available in the end was inevitable.
Guess people can be happy that it is not priced at the same garbage lvl as the Retail boost.
The only thing that I really think is a rip off and cash grab is the character copy. This is BS.
And no I don’t play Classic and I also will not play TBC so it doesn’t really affect me, but I still think the price for a copy is just beyond stupid.
Isn’t there a classic forum for this?
The cut happened in TBC as well the xp needed from 1-60 was cut by 30% patch 2.3.0
Patch 2.3.0 | WoWWiki | Fandom
When somebody did the maths back then after these notes
Leveling improvements
Many leveling improvements have been made for the old world.
- The amount of experience needed to gain a level has been decreased between levels 20 and 60. In addition, the amount of experience granted by quests has been increased between levels 30 and 60.
- Level 1-60 dungeon quests have had their experience and faction rewards increased
It worked out at a 30% nerf to XP needed
Concidering the patch they are using for launch is one used mid TBC to help use modern day coding to find the XP nerf there is not a shock .
BlizzConline 2021 World of Warcraft: TBC Classic Deep Dive Panel Recap - Wowhead News
Everything Changing in the WoW Classic TBC Pre-Patch (estnn.com)
REDUCED XP REQUIREMENTS TO HIT LEVEL 60
This change is going to depend a lot on what patch from TBC, TBC Classic launches on. The XP change was added in 2.3, with the reduced mount level in 2.3.4. At BlizzCon Blizzard suggested we’d be seeing the reduced XP go live with TBC. Though with the pre-patch likely to see a huge wave of new players we expect the XP change to go live then.
Blizzcon even said we would have the XP nerf .
“The change effectively reduced the XP from 20-58 by 30%, ramping up as you go. This alongside a few additional quests and increased dungeon quest XP should make the Classic leveling experience much faster, getting more players into TBC as soon as possible.”
that’s even worse than I thought.
So why isn’t it called a player level boost instead of a “Dark Portal Pass”, did they think the naysayers wouldn’t notice?
It’s so they can lure some boomers in who think that it’s required to play Classic TBC
I think to make it sound different as you can only do it once per account, unlike other boosts we’ve had in Retail. However there is no way people weren’t going to notice it’s a boost.
Lol it got 3 likes… they are shameless and dont give a crap about the playerbase…
This is why boosters have taken over the game… they sell tokens = money. Blizz dont give a crap about anything but money…
Think its time we actually unite and boycott them… i mean i want d4 to be good but put it side by side with poe 2 and its looking bad…
Such a shame… the company had its players eating out its hands and they just give us poop
It’s thanks to people like you companies get away with this. They’re literally adding stuff for real money to an expansion that didn’t have these things. This is such an obvious money grab, it’s disgusting. Meanwhile we have less people playing the game, yet their revenue increases thanks to things like this. This is exactly where their arrogance comes from when they keep on delivering subpar stuff for retail.
Just pay your sub and have the option to play Classic TBC, or don’t…the whining about capitalism in a capitalist system, for cosmetics and/or a level boost (if you are too lazy to level) is starting to get tedious.
Imagine defending greedy companies.
Imagine voting for the system, then complaining about it.
the facepalm of the year award goes to you, congratulations.
Irony…
I doubt you even understand the word irony.
