I would rather suggest a increase in number of mounts that people get while playing pvp aka new mounts and transmog sets .
They should make new rankings which start from let’s say 500 in ranking and make some things available for casual pvp also so that people engagement goes up .that way more people will try it and some will even try to get better and hit better rankings in rated
So is entitlement. What’s the middleground here?
Making past gladiator mounts available again is an insult to players who earned it.
Improving the quality of future gladiator mounts could be a solution.
Fixing the issues of pvp would be a great start to introduce more players
Blizzard is going to reduce the required CR for gladiator / legend from 2400 to 2300. I might go for legend in midnight if it’s that free.
So, what is the solution here? Definitely not insulting past gladiators, even if I reeeeaaaallyyyyy love the cloudserpent gladiator mounts. They are stunning.
I think in gaming everybody should get everything.
That’s not entitlement; I personally don’t care about the majority of the stuff.
I just don’t agree with that.
If some of those players feel insulted, well… That sucks for them.
But that shouldn’t mean they get catered to at the expense of others.
I agree with the fixing part, but I just don’t think it’ll get more players to play PvP.
It’s simply a niche activity that appeals to a certain type of player; and WoW is just not a game that appeals to that type of player in general (of course there’s exceptions).
The solution is to stop giving in to greedy players who think they’re special because they did something in a game. Make it ‘timed exclusive’ or something; “this mount will not be for sale earlier than 2 expansions after it was originally earned”. Or something like that. Give them a feat of strength too that later buyers of the mount won’t get.
The solution is to not be bothered what other people have achieved.
You can’t get past season m+ mounts or titles.
You can’t get past CEs.
You can’t get past gladiator / legend titles and mounts.
And ultimately this is fine. It’s good to have some prestige in the game. People work their way to earn it.
It’s not elitism to say that people who worked hard and put in effort to achieve something should be able to enjoy their rewards and that people who couldn’t be bothered to put in the effort and/or weren’t good enough to earn them can just play their violin and cry about it. Why should someone like you who doesn’t bother with PvP be entitled to have my mounts that I spent hundreds of hours EARNING?
Entitled: ‘believing oneself to be inherentlydeserving of privileges or special treatment’ You are the epitome of this. Thinking you should have my rewards without even bothering to try for them is privilege and special treatment.
