Yup i just got the heritage set last night but now i feel it was a waste of time. #cheatingpaysofinwow
Blizzard have never been lax on breaches of the terms of use. Anyone claiming that they are has straight up made it up. They don’t “potentially” ban thousand of peoples “for random reasons out of thin air” they only really ban people for breaking ToU, ToS and CoC agreement breaches.
If you break the Terms of Use regardless if blizzard are able to/have time to/or never intend to respond publicly on the matter, the ToU clearly states the answer for you. If they really wanted a answer on the matter they should had sent their questions trought a ticket before using the exploit or after discovering it. Who the heck ask over twitter… ![]()
Even if it’s a “scummy move” from blizzard’s part (tinfoil hat much) this at least proves the point that people can’t read… The Southpark episode with the “human-centipad” returns once more in a even more comical fashion.
Seriously people need to really get a grip and start reading what they agree on while creating accounts. What if blizzard whould had written in there that they could acctually had used people who breach the agreement to acctually construct “a human-centipad”.
Sure this whould probably spreaded like a wildfire on Preaches stream or something, but i bet many people whould just had scrolled down to get the clickable box out of their face.
For the last time before i abandon this completely:
License Limitations. Blizzard may suspend or revoke your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:
Cheating: Create, use, offer, promote, advertise, make available and/or distribute the following or assist therein:
cheats; i.e. methods not expressly authorized by Blizzard, influencing and/or facilitating the gameplay, including exploits of any in-game bugs, and thereby granting you and/or any other user an advantage over other players not using such methods;
Duplicated Items: Create, utilize or transact in any in-game item created or copied by exploiting a design flaw, undocumented problem, or program bug in the Platform.
For a full read you are able to go to;
So even if it’s blizzards fault you have agreed to not exploit errors in code. This you and everyone of us agreed to when we created our accounts. Blizzard owe us no responses when it comes to glitches. Only entitled players demands a response on obvious stupid exploits like this.
agreed, player behaviour must also come from within as well as moderated by blozzard… but, theres lawyers and suing, so you have to cover your bum for anything online … so a message about it when you log on would have been required.
It always pays off being the bad guy. Just don’t kill anyone
Huh? What are you on about here?
Yeah anyone who sues blizzard because they got banned over this has to video the court case! I need to see how that works out for them, and I mean need to see it.
People got different amounts of days, as far as I know. A real life friend told me he had a few in his guild who got it, and the one with the longest ban got 31 days.
Your Honor! they banned me!
why did they ban you?
Well, I abused an exploit! but they didn’t warn me not to exploit!
Well it is an exploit and it is mentioned that exploiters will be punished.
But your honor! they left the bug there! it’s right there! how could I know that it’s an exploit!
You just said it yourself, you abused an exploit
…
…
case closed.
this is generally how it goes. it was the same with the artifact power exploit in legion. you exploit and you get banned for a few days or a week, but you get to keep whatever you gained by exploiting. usually what you gain by exploiting is greater than the punishment.
Quite the subjective term thou. Many players that get’s banned don’t really think “they got rewarded” for being banned, even if they personally don’t voice their opinion as often as the edgy kids who think the bans are worth it. Who’s most likely in the current online climate to emerge in the open;
- The person who feels bad about being banned?
- The person who feels being banned was worth it?
I’d probably say the 2nd and no amounts of punishments won’t change their view on the matter. However the people in the first category will often become way more careful even with a lenient ban.
Funny world, banning people for a mistake you made when developing a feature.
A feature that is supposed to speed up leveling and then banning people for speeding up to much.
Am I the only one who finds this a little bit funny?
No. I don’t find it funny.
True enough, a mistake was made when developing. Noone got banned for the bug being there. People got banned for abusing it.
The ToU states that exploiting of such mistakes is a punishable offense.
Rules were broken. Punishment were dealt.
Get.over.it.
This bans were wrong. The potions we’re not FREE. They cost way more time investment than they return. Think about it…
The duration of the suspension received was generally in correlation with the amount of levels gained. Players who only gained a few levels via the exploit received the shortest suspensions, whereas players who gained a significant amount of levels on one or more characters received the longest suspensions.
