If you’re European and support an independent Wales, consider starting your own local Plaid chapter. I know a good friend who’s opening one in Denmark soon. :fist:

Well the topic -is- Feudal/Serf RP, so…

Weird that beyond Perenolde, they haven’t really elaborated on that… Not -really-

Sadly these days absolutely nothing…three months nicotine clean, and I will not lie, I am suffering. I really, really want a cigarette, I will not however buy a packet, because I know I would not stop at one…

BUt yeah, Nobles can be -powerful- without some weird Anglo-Saxon kick, I mean that is pretty simple stuff, you don’t need all this feudal nonsense which was gotten rid of a long time ago…

I’d be down for this tbh. I think it would work better though if the noble/merchant would be relatively poor compared to other nobles, his poor well-being making him desperate to find riches across Azeroth. He spends his last resources leading expeditions. Kind of like a conquistador.

Listen, guy, it’s almost harvesting season, okay?

I’d love to RP a small pox-riddled peasant though.

Stormwind isn’t feudal and nobles owning land isn’t feudalism. Knights exist as the silver hand and nobles serve the king in a self interested advisory role.

I’d prefer the opposite. Too many House guilds and Noble guilds skulk in Stormwind making it into the unbearable cesspit it is today.

I suppose the closets one could get to a feudal system is gilneas?
but even then I don’t think even they had such a system in place

it seems as others have stated, that any notions of feudal systems died out with the release of wow, along with gender inequality, the mysticism and the salamanders (for some reason)

Don’t forget the Knight rankings within the Alliance Military. Knights are a gentry role. Therefore doesn’t require to be a Noble to be classed as such. But yeah Alliance side it’s mostly Military. Knight-Captain, Knight-Lieutenant,etc.

That and well. In terms of Knighthood, becoming a Knight is simpler than expected, doesn’t require a monarch, or that of a extremely wealthy background (Even though gentry were really just mediocre landlords at most), to an extent that a Knight could Knight another person under themselves. It’s why Squires usually wish to become such, etc. And Military Alliance side… Well it looks more like an Officer/Specialist role.

See, like a whole lot of other things, it’s not done correct.
If somebody drops in and starts making some change in the noble RP scene, I bet Stormwind could shift into something better.

Noble roleplayers who RP noble houses that rule “County of Schmargengrengen” or any other made up place, acting as if WoW is Game of Thrones 2.0, will never disappear. You will always have players who come to WoW and automatically assume that because humans in Warcraft are partially inspired by medieval people, RPing noble houses inspired by GoT/ASoIaF is the right thing, not to mention how it´s gritty and realistic, therefore it has to be good.

Or they just don´t care about the lore and instead of trying to RP in a setting where it makes much more sense, they RP Count Bregemin Humpenducken III. of Schmargengrengen in WoW.

Them sound like Warhammer fightin’ words!

Your name shall be charted in the Great Word Document of Grudges! starts typing frantically

They could use a pimped out garrison

I’m content to RP that my character is the Lord of “Somewhere-so-insignificant-that-it-does-not-show-on-the-map-but-is-also-overshadowed-by-its-more-prestigious-neighbours” :+1:
