a short queue is not unplayable? make it 10 mins make it 5 i dont really care but there should be an incentive for new players to join the smaller side regarding pvp otherwise factions will slowly tilt towards 100% horde pvpers, yes maybe factions overall are balanced but its no secret that most alliance dont pvp and there should be a reason for pvpers to play there
ignore the alliance troll please i dont want the thread derailed by troll posts, trying to actually have a good discussion here
I can swap to bis orc racial hunter instantly continuing from my old vanilla toons. And why i wouldnt do that with insta ques on horde. Yes let alliance die, couse that will happen unless they boost allies in someway then
this isnt an argument about racials, alliance has some really strong pvp racials and overall its not even that unbalanced, horde is overpopulated and changing racials wont help that
Ok, I will entertain this seeing as you seem to be serious.
You cannot force one side to have a different queue time because they are the majority faction. Putting a time limit on queues is just not good for anyone.
As the game stands(with HvH), there is equal queue times for all.
Regarding saying that eventually everyone will just roll Horde. This game has been around for over 15 years, and this has never been the case. Both factions have had highs and lows, but it has never been 100% one faction, and it never will be. Its not a cause for concern.
why should there be no disadvantages for all stacking on one side, the system should try and match horde vs alliance for a short time and then if it cant, go horde vs horde, i dont see why this is an issue, the fact is horde pvp is grossly overpopulated and will continue to be without some kind of incentive to reverse it
you say it wont ever become 100% and yes you are probably right but we are already facing nearly 2 hour queues within 1 month of tbc launch, the problem is already here and this change will most likely make it worse; personally im already thinking of making a horde alt for pvp, alliance bgs are miserable outside of premades and with no queue times why not join the side with pvpers on it and have a chance to win some games
im trying to find a reasonable feasible solution that doesnt change the entire game for no good reason, please stop trying to derail the thread
its a two faction game, there should at least be an attempt to balance the two sides regarding pvp in my opinion
horde had 30s queues during weekend, even faster than alliance in some cases, that isnt exactly what i expected and is not really prioritising horde vs alliance is it now
horde were reporting 1-1.5 hour queues for some bgs before this change came, i cant confirm if its true or not its just what i read, might have been US queues im not sure
The hilarious âRemove all racialsâ argument⊠ok, if that was the case, people would still continue to play Horde or boost Horde characters because they want to be on the larger population faction. So that doesnât work. Alliance racials are not even bad anyway? For lots of classes and specs they are BiS lmao. Dwarf priest, human rogue, gnome warrior. All great choices. This is probably the worst argument for removing racials that idiots on this forum have come up with.
âHurr duurrr meta slaves playing Hordeâ some of us have played since the start of classic on Horde, have established alts, networks, guilds, friends, so itâs not woth rerolling over? Also ironically the people making these comments admit to choosing Alliance for the faster queues. Hypocrites lol.
The best starting point would be Horde to Alliance faction transfers (theyâd have to be free to make sense imo). I know a lot of people that have said theyâd change given the option, or would strongly consider it. Iâm one of those people myself.
i 100% agree, ignore him, trying to keep reasonable discussion here but of course some trolls will come to bait people
they are much less likely to consider it now they have tested HvH, that ship has sailed imo and now they need to add extra incentives for swapping to alliance otherwise why would anyone do it?
Now Im on the same page as you, and yes I can confirm from first hand experience queues for a bg were over a hour.
I dont think there needs to be a balance. People will play whatever faction they want to. I truly do not believe that this change will cause problems for alliance. And again, if 3 months, 6 months, 10 months down the road it does, well then hopefully Blizz will address it as they have addressed the queue problem now.
But to remove a working solution because of what MIGHT happen seems silly to me.
i mean im not asking for it to be removed, i think HvH is required with this balance as it is now, but some small incentives might help the balance from getting worse, and tbh waiting until its gone too far is a bad idea; people will be much less willing to fix anything when they are used to instant queue bgs with no downside
I think Blizzard just need to move quicker with trying out solutions. I think some of these incentives sound good in theory, but in practice just give people more reason to cry about âno changesâ.
I think 1 time faction changes for Horde > Alliance is a good starting point.
I also think another viable solution is some kind of bonus honour incentive based on time spent in a queue as a Horde. I think queuing for 1 hour is unacceptable, but, there could be a system in place to grant Horde more honour for those BGâs. With this, they could tune it in a way so Alliance are still gaining the advantage of faster queues & more overall honour/marks gain.
There could also be a âCall to Armsâ for Alliance, giving Alliance more incentive to play Battlegrounds and bonus honour - thus making Horde queue times lower.
There are literally so many options they could try⊠I could think of dozens.
True, them trying HvH first was a mistake, even though i directly benefited from it and geared 2 characters, I can see how it wasnât the best way to proceed.
If they came out and said âWe wonât implement HvH, but we are doing X and Yâ then Horde might be willing to take a faction change.
generally i agree idk about bonus honor for horde though, while it helps with honor farm it still sucks for people who just want to play for fun to have 1hr queues
short queue time, maybe 10mins while it looks for HvA, and then after that time just matches HvH seems pretty reasonable and should at least help balance a little (if faction changes were offered, not expecting people to reroll)
it was kind of what i expected when they announced it but then i saw horde getting 15s queues while i was waiting 1min as alliance lol, not that it really matters in reality but still i expected it to wait longer for HvA before going HvH
Nothing wrong in only being interested in one aspect of the game. Especially when the rest is âbeen there done thatâ.
Did glad in original s3 and raided everything up to the last 2 bosses of sunwell. No interest in doing that again with 2021 playerbase. So as a horde player who want to BG only, yes leveling on the alliance side was the obvious choice for just fun casual pvp in BGs.
