That’s because this whole thing was not just poorly thought out.
On top of that it was executed in the most idiotic way possible.
Before they panic opened new character creation after only 4 days instead of the promised 7-14 they had ALL REALMS locked to new player character creation.
That means
- The Legacy Realms (sources of FCT) (like Firemaw)
- The preconnected destination realms (like Shek’zeer)
- The mega-server “hub” realms (like Mirage Raceway)
Now answer me this, assume a new wow player or someone coming from the retail side wants to roll a fresh character on Mists Classic.
Where would they do that?
A 5year old could tell you that’s the stupidest s it ever and I’m sure some beancounter rang them up and told them to fix their mess now because they had essentially CLOSED SHOP for 2 weeks.
Now … the obvious solution ofc is to not do a blanket Lock on every realm but leave at least the “hub” realms open and keep the others locked for 2 weeks like they promised.
But this is modern Blizzard we’re talking about, the “small indie company” meme come to life with regards to resources, but keeping the ego of a billion dollar corporation.
