Forced Pvp stormwind?

True its like asking a shopkeeper for a crunchie bar and you get sold a fudge bar, and you think right okay !!!

Okay, Stormwind or Orgrimmar, that’s fine. But this has happened to me and my spouse today when we logged in at Icecrown to kill Skadi, and all of a sudden we were in a middle of PvP battle (read this as 40 hordies kicking 2 alliance butt haha). So it’s not just SW/OG. Clearly something is very wrong if it only should happen in main cities.

That’s a bit unfair (aimed at Confusion-bloodfeather above me) at this day & age with the rona spanking our asses and Irvine, CA (where Blizzard HQ is) had a huge fire near them that reached even EU (or at least ES/UK/FI) news. Have a bit of heart pal. I mean yeah it’s a game, we pay for it monthly + expansions, but still. 2020 ain’t normal. Patience is a virtue, my friend.

Thanks for letting know.

I’m just disappointed as mentioned by another player that we pay for normal servers and now are forced to go PVP.
Maybe in the future Blizzard should consider that.
There is obviously a good reason why we don’t play on PVP servers.

How did anyone think this was a good idea?

Forcing PvP-flags on people.
Effectively allowing/encouraging griefing as part of a Blizzard event.
Stating to avoid Orgr/Sw is a joke since they are both major travel hubs that alot of characters can’t avoid using for travel to, for example, Icecrown.
Also saying: It only lasts for 1 week, well guess what, so are the timelimited items from Icecrown…

Not cool and seriously lacking good judgement from Blizzard.

Phase 2 was broken exactly for same reason.
That made me unsub and my friends did too.
Blizzard lost too many resubs that time and people never came back.
Game devs never learn.

If players can exploit the game, they definitely will.

Yet again Blizzard, this sort of thing should not be enforced. Those that want to be involved can have their fun, those that don’t should be left alone to play the game their way.
I thought this was supposed to be restricted to those with warmode on but it isn’t, I just got infected for daring to land at a FP on my way to kill Nathanos, which is also not possible because of zombies camping it out so I can’t even complete the pre-patch quests.

Cancelled sub. Hopefully someone looking at the numbers will notice.

I believe that was the original plan, but they then realised very few would actually participate, so they decided to force it on everyone.

Encountered this as well. People as zombies are griefing everyone trying to kill Nathanos weekly for weapons. Zombies should either be restricted to warmode/pvp on or zone based in SW/Org only. Luckily I got my weapons on most alts before this but Nathanos is a warzone that few can complete at the moment and it really takes out even more of what little fun is left in this game.

But why force people into it? Why it is mandatory to participate? Why are people with wm off, who had already stated that they don’t wish to take part of non-instanced pvp are flagged for pvp?

And there is a blue response linking to an article which says unique rewards (recolor transmog, a toy-like thing which somehow isn’t a toy, and a pet?). So these garbage rewards could have been farmed in the last week, and taking part of the zombie invasion literally nets no rewards beside the enjoyment(?) of some people that are intentionally slowing, and ruining other players’ game experience.

So the blue said it only lasts a week, where can i refund this week then? /s ofc…

My question is! do you guys cry this much in real life?

I don’t normally complain - I don’t think I ever have in 15.5 years playing, but this is absolute rubbish!
Avoid Stormwind? - You’re kidding right? It’s the hub of all portals and is requisite for almost all story quests in the game. I’m guessing Org is the same for Horde.
Since there’s no practical opt-out option other than to log-off, perhaps the devs would like to refund a week of subs (and extend the 16th Anniversary buff for a week) for those of us wanting to exercise our right not to do PVP - I’ll raise a ticket to find out.
Or, just fix it so War Mode is required to participate. That’s a damn fine option.
Cheers.

Not to mention the fact that Npc Ghouls spawned by PC ghouls are EVERYWHERE and not just in the Capitals and they will attack none pvp players and force them into PVP mode. Which a number of griefers are using to keep people from during the pre-launch quests in icecrown as well as Nathahos weekly in pleaguelands.

I don’t mean to be rude, but this kind of content is garbage. No one I know enjoys it.

Forcing people to participate whether or not they want to literally is degrading and depressing. When someone logs into the game at least they have a choice of whether for example they’ll go to a dungeon, or a raid, or even turn on Warmode - all of these gameplay activities are at the player’s choice.

This event? Choice is demolished, your sense of control over your own character is taken away. It is destroying RP events, being used by trolls to grief others, and is just generally unpleasant for everyone that does not want to participate in it.

It’s at most, fun for 5 minutes – if you’re childish, and after that, it’s so boring and tedious because you’ll get forced into a zombie or get attacked whether you want to be in it or not.

This is definitely not for me. I have a lvl 12 mage and it is very annoying to be forced into PvP when I am not interested.
