ye its sad. all alliance gehennas is moving to firemaw because thanks to blizzard ignorance on server balance our server got flooded by horde in tbc.
and i assume the same will happen to firemaw horde once the season rewards are out and all the remaining guilds from other server will move to firemaw alliance.
its just sad
Except if we talk about the concept in general then you did lie, my few friends or hes few friends will not matter indeed, but if we talk about everyones few friends in a snowball like effect we are then talking about every player.
I quit and my 2 friends, but these 2 friends also have 2 friends each who quit and so on untill there is no one left.
Hard concept to grasp i know, give it some time it will slowly sink in.

I saw the post on the community council forums about the server population.
There was a great emphasis on you not wanting to create unhappy players, not wanting to force changes. And as such you are still monitoring the whole free transfer situation.
Now I beg of you to open up the transfer off the servers that have completely died to all their normal transfer options.
Just a month before you opened up the transfers my guild decided to move from a dying PvP server to a PvE server. I was very excited when the free transfers were announced, as transfering is expensive, and so I would finally be able to move my alts over.
But that was not to be the case. The extra restrictions imposed for these transfers mean my alts are still stuck. And now not just on a dying server, but on a stone cold dead one.
If you are constantly monitoring the free transfers, please change the restrictions for these completely dead servers, to follow the normal transfer rules. That would make the last of us who are still stuck very very happy.

gehennas alliance player since day1 classic here, it really is on a all time low rn. probably gonna be even worse after season ends. i refuse to migrate of the server cause of activisons lack of interest to keep more than 1 MEGA SERVER per faction alive.
from a business pov you have to be absolutely mental to believe that a short termed & decent Q1 report will make up for a complete fiesta for the rest of the year. it really is saddening how little they care, hit them where they hurt the most 
Iâd really like to see what would be Blizzardâs answer to a question âDiscussing solutions with the community is always good, but what are players stuck on dead servers supposed to do in the meantime?â. If community council brings up this question, that would make Blizzard speechless.
With their talent of shooting themselves in both of the knees id say the reply would be along the lines:
âIf they cannot wait untill we implement the best possible fix (to be read - untill all that are willing to pay us to transfer have done so) they should pay to transfer.â

Noggenfogger down to 447 active characters.
My sub is cancelled for now. I still have 4 months play time, but renewal is pending the decisions that need to be made on paying customersâ agency on migratory practices.
Suggestion: Just open free migration from all servers to all servers and let the customers decide where they want to play, and with whom.
I will happily pay the subscription for as long as I want to play, but this situation where I have to pay extra fees on top of that to get the full experience, or even ANY experience, is pretty awful business practices.
Of course, I could reroll for free. However, I have neither the time nor the inclination to (re)create my characters. I have played the same characters since the start of Vanilla and Classic respectively, and intend to stick with them until the end, whenever and in whatever form that comes.

Following the recent blue posts seems you guys are studying solutions for this issue.
In the meantime, why donât you clear everyoneâs CDs, open free transfers from a d to everywhere and give it a month to see what the community âwantsâ?
After that act accordingly.
Raid logging on a dead server or leveling an alt without seeing a soul is depressing and feels like a chore.

Last week ironforge.pro update:
Firemaw Horde grew by 15,35% (+1770)
Gehenass Horde grew by 9,34% (+1329)
I donât know, but if players actively seek faction unbalance (as Blizzard and its forum impostor state) weâd expect Gehenass Horde population grew more rapidly than Firemaw Horde. Also, weâd actually expect Firemaw Horde to be decreasing as people from dead servers should choose Gehenass (due to unbalanced pop there) and players on Firemaw should move to Gehenass Horde (because they want domination and not balanced realm). Lastly, most small servers are almost 100% horde pop, why would players from these servers move to a balanced realm such as Firemaw if the faction domination they want so much, according to Blizzard, will be lost?
You get it now? Faction imbalance is just a side effect of players true desires and not something they would purposely want. Players much more care about their faction population size rather than horde:alliance ratio.

Iâm cancelling my subscription because my characters are stuck on a dead server (Noggenfogger) and I think itâs ridiculous to expect me to pay 25⏠for each of the 10 characters I have there.
This is very sad because I want to continue playing, Iâve played since day 1 Classic WoW, but due to Noggenfogger not being among the servers that were given a free transfer back in November the server is now down to a miserable 400 ish players (according to ironforge.pro) that are stuck there. Officially the lowest populated EU server.
The Auction House is almost empty and there have been little to no dungeon or raid groups PUGâs for months now.
If free transfers open up (very soon/when Phase 3 launches) Iâll reactivate.

firemaw is just common popular server for every faction because of numbers, but slowly it will turn into ally server especially in wotlk, but horde is so big that it will survive for horde folks probably until end of wotlk
a lot of those numbers are âfakeâ because ppl just dont care to upload logs
those logs are not real player numbers, but ppl who uploaded their raids to warcraft logs com, so basically some servers might be 10x bigger, or sometimes smaller (if ppl just log in to make raid, upload it, and go off for anotther week)
Still, that would be true for both Horde and Alliance, no? On average at least the A:H ratio should be pretty close to the real thing.
