this could actulay be intresting, after every boss the timer starts again, and you also get loot for every boss you kill, quality of loot would go up the faster you kill next boss, counting how many times you died, getting to next boss etc…
it could become realy fun, and once you cleared all bosses, the loot you get is counted buy everything you done, and what quality of loot you get
I mean, this is one reason I favour raids over M+ and wish there were more of them.
On the other hand… M+ is rarely more than a 40 minute event. You don’t need breaks, and drinks; you just act like an adult and sort that out before you start. And yes I get that some people have children and other responsibilities that might require attention during that time - sorry, but that’s on them. Run with a team who accept that and won’t get annoyed, or run at a time when you won’t be disturbed. Sending kids to bed by 8pm isn’t just because it’s biologically good for them - it’s good for their parents too.
If it was pausable, then people would do that; a lot. Sometimes to double check strats, sometimes to talk stuff through. Either way, they’d be changing the nature of the challenge; which is that you have limited time and have to work with what you know when you step into the dungeon.
And if you fail - try again. Learn some things. Read a bit before next time.
But your best preparation is a team of people you’ve run with before and who you trust not to have a pizza arrive half way through the run
Raiding is just better, mate. It’s really sad many don’t give it a chance due to the higher perceived barrier to entry (having to find 10 people, 2 tanks, etc) and choose to wallow in M+ world.
Since I quit M+ completely my time in WoW has vastly improved. At this point, I am convinced the M+ mode is unsalvageable. I’ll play Legion M+ when that timewalking comes out, but that will be for a week, so it’ll feel fresh.
In my opinion, dungeons should be a viable part of the endgame, but M+ sucks at its core.
if they added a feature it would need to be managed like they originally tried to do for something like master looter and make it only usable if you are in a guild group or something like that, because it would be the only way for them to stop pugs abusing it like you are suggesting.
